Bon Jovi had a nice day in Toronto Saturday.The New Jersey rockers became the first band to be inducted into the newly established Air Canada Centre Hall of Fame for playing a record 17 shows at the venue including Saturday night, the second gig of a two-night stand at the hockey hangar. The group earlier brought their Because We Can tour to the ACC in February. At that time, they had guitarist Richie Sambora with them on stage, but he left the tour in April for “personal reasons,” with Toronto’s Phil X since filling his shoes. So, as expected, Sambora was missing in action when Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment president Tim Leiweke presented frontman Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan and drummer Tico Torres with their star plaque on Saturday afternoon in front of about a 100 screaming fans, some with placards, and some from as far away as Finland, at the ACC’s Gate 1 in the galleria.
