Chytil practiced for the first time today wearing a red non-contact jersey. I'd think he'll be back after the break, which is 11 days from today, and 2 more games. My guess is with only 2 more games missed for Chytil expected, they can save some money by getting rid of Bonino or sending him down if he clears waivers and prefers that. They also called up Leschyshyn.

I hope this is the start for Drury and leads to a trade as we move closer to the trade DL, that mixes things up. It is needed.

They will likely use Pitlick in any trade to add salary, along with maybe Jones or Robertson, and whomever from the roster. I'm not usually opposed to trading 1sts in the back half of the round but this time i think i'd hang onto it as we need to start building more high end prospect depth, especially at C. Othmann and Perreault are really the only blue chip guys we have now. Sykora, McCBarker and Fortescue are solid prospects but depth guys.

Thank god. He stinks. Can’t have two idiots like him and Goodrow. They’re both redundant. If they can move Goodrow also that would be nice.

Goodrow had a nasty injury. He's going to play better without the cage going forward. To be fair, he needs youth and more talent on this line. Sykora and Edstrom would fit the bill instead of putting him with Vesey, Bonino or Pitlick. It's not that Vesey is bad. He just doesn't have the identity you need from a role player. Fast. Or physical. Or nasty. He's just blah.

Goodrow is not worth the $3.6M cap hit he has, not close. Not to say he doesn't add some grit, experience, and value to the team, but he is overpaid by $2M per for that. Not his fault since Drury offered him that much to play this role, but it is why he needs to be gone this summer.

And apparently Chytil had to be helped off the ice during the morning skate today:

The 24-year-old center reportedly had to be helped off the ice during the Rangers morning skate ahead of their home game against the Vegas Golden Knights. Dan Rosen of NHL.com reported on X, formerly Twitter, adding that he was told Chytil is being evaluated.

One day after returning to practice with the Rangers since suffering a suspected concussion in November, Filip Chytil was down for several minutes and had to be helped off the ice at an optional skate this morning at MSG before Friday’s game against the Golden Knights.

It is unclear what exactly happened to Chytil, but it didn’t look good as he left the ice with help from teammates Zac Jones and Jake Leschyshyn and the Rangers training staff.

Maybe not related to his head, maybe he hurt a knee or something else, but if his head again, for his own life and health, he needs to stay on LTIR this season and the Rangers need to use his $4M+ cap hit relief to trade for a top 9 C, in addition to a dman and another top 9 forward they need even if Chytil came back this season. And he seriously needs to think about his career moving forward, if it was his head again.
