http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/437...ns_to_practice/ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bonzi Wells finally returned to the practice court Monday after a month-long absense. The question now is how soon will he suit up in a Rockets uniform. Wells practiced for the first time since going on the inactive list on Nov. 7 and could play as early as Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers . Wells said after his most recent workout that he was happy to be back on the court. "It felt kind of like home," Wells said. "It felt good. I'm happy to be back. It's been a long time coming. Whenever your love is taken away from you a little bit, you're sad. But I'm really happy to be back and I'm ready to start playing."</div> Good, or should I say: finally! He was out of shape for a long time. I know he was hurt, but it was on him to get back in shape, and he didn't do it as quick as everyone would have liked. But I'm happy that he's finally getting back into the swing of things, he's a very effective player when he's healthy. He's one of the best rebounding SG's in the league, he can hit some shots, he's pretty strong for a 6'5'' G/F. He will help the Rockets out a lot, and it will give them another solid option offensively. Let's hope he can get back soon.
I would like to say this is a pleasant surprise, but I'm too disappointed in him to be pleased. Before the start of the season, I was hoping he would be able to start, but with Shane Battier doing well, that's highly unlikely. Even a spot as a 30 MPG 6th man is looking doubtful. Whatever happens, he'll have to play his way onto the court.
Finally. I know he was out of shape and had that little injury but Jeff Van Gundy didnt have to put him on the inactive list. Hopefully he will come in and work his self back into the rotation
