Bonzi & Sura for Flip Murray & Dale Davis? Supposedly, we're shoppin Bonzi to the Pistons for Flip and Dale. Why? I have no clue. Dale is another one of those "Jeff Van Gundy" senior citizens in the same mold as Clarence Weatherspoon, Charles Oakley & Mark Jackson. Do we really wanna get older? Flip Murray is not a difference maker like Bonzi can potentially be (when the coach decides to play him) . Even if Flip did come here, he's not gonna get playin time in JVG's short rotation. I think this is another idiotic trade the Rockets should stay away from. This type of trade talks scares me
This rumored trade won't happen. We're getting shortchanged . Yao will be back few weeks from now and there would be no use for Davis besides we already have Tsakalidis. We don't need 4 centers. As for Murray he's not better than either Bonzi or Snyder. It would be better to stick with Bonzi. Come playoff time he'll gonna show off his wares. I have a feeling he will because he's gonna have to perform better to get more money in free agency. I just hope it would be in a positive way by helping the Rockets advance past first round on the way to success which is very hard to accomplish.
I rarely post, but I read in this forum all the time and noticed that you Rock4life, is a hell of a JVG hater and you probably have a Bonzi Wells shrine in your room

Prior to the Tsakalidis deal, this trade would have made sense but now there's no need for Dale Davis, although I'd be excited to have Flip Murray. He's a hell of a scorer, and we get to relieve ourselves of Sura's contract as well. I'm indifferent towards trading Bonzi but if we keep him, he'll be gone this summer, so it might be beneficial to get something in return for him than losing him for nothing. Besides, something has to give between him and Snyder.

Remember, before the season our needs were an athletic wing who can be a consistent 3rd option. This is what we lacked since Mcgrady came to Houston. This is the same thing that cost us the Mavericks series in the playoffs a few seasons back. I've said it too many times, our defense is already great. Bonzi's significance is his midrange game & post game. When JVG decides to run more plays for him, he's gonna benefit us greatly. BUT....................Trading Bonzi for an unproven player is basically throwing the season away. Snyder & Bonzi CAN work well, especially together. Both of them are enuff to disrupt any offense (or defense). Head & Skip both are up & down, and can easily be replace thru stretches. I'd hate to look up and see in bold print "BONZI TRADED FOR MICHEAL SWEETNEY". Or Flip Murray & Dale Davis.
Flip Murray though is that athletic player you need. And as for unproven, this is a guy who averaged over 20 ppg for a good portion of the season a few years ago in Seattle when Ray Allen was injured. Not saying that Flip will do that consistently, but he'd be good for 10 ppg off the bench. Explosive, can get to the rim. Basically, your type of player. Anyways, the trade deadline's already passed, so there's no point talking about it.
