Houston Chronicle<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Bonzi Wells has decided against a run at free agency and will return to the Houston Rockets next season, his agent, Bill Duffy, said Saturday. Wells had until Monday to reach a decision, but Duffy said the paperwork was completed Saturday to opt in to his current contract, worth $2.8 million.</div>LinkThis is good for the Rockets. Bonzi had one of his best seasons under Adelman in Sacramento, and could be big for Houston this season.

Hopefully he will actually make an impact this year. When he's ready to play, he's very effective. He's a stocky SG who knows how to bang in the post, and get inside baskets. He's kind of like the new era Mark Aguirre

Bonzi Wells well help the Rockets offensively, last season the Rockets had problems with their offense in the playoffs. Most of the offense was forced to be run through Yao and T-mac. Last year Wells couldn't contribute on the bench under Jeff Van Gundy, however a coaching change (Adelman a coach who Bonzi flourished under) and a better mental state for Bonzi should allow him to contribute more this season.

As I said last year, when Bonzi is right he can be a huge X-factor who can give you around 20-30 points on any given night in the playoffs when T-Mac/Yao aren't producing. Unfortunately he has a bad atititude and even a worse work ethic, but since he seems to be happy with Adelman and likes the team in general, hopefully he will respond well.

Bonzi wells is not the answer to any teams problems. Hes an average player at best, and may give the rockets a decent 10 ppg along with a few boards but their problems go much deeper than Bonzi.

When his head is screwed on right, he is a FANTASTIC 3rd scoring option. As for the Rockets problems...there aren't many. Last year with Yao out 32 games and T-mac out 11 games, the Rockets won 52 games. They fixed the biggest problem (PG) by adding depth with Mike James, who can give the Rockets a much needed scorer who can create for himself, which they didn't have last year in the playoffs. They WILL fix the PF issue, and through the draft/free agency/trade, they can make necassary additions there.

During the regular season, he averaged 13 points, which isn't big, but he had a really good 2nd half, which carried on into the playoffs, when he averaged over 20 against the Spurs. He could very well solves their problems of another scorer in the playoffs. He's versatile. He's a shooting guard who can post up his defender and play like a big man. When he has the desire, he is very good, and Adelman seems to know how to instill than desire in him.

The guy is a very good scorer and rebounder, and while I don't expect him to be the kind of impact that Artest could be, he could be a big factor in pushing a team over the hump (remember- if everyone was healthy last year they could have won 60 games).

I don't like how Bonzi has wasted a year of his prime talent but hey il get over it, if he can come back re focused then I think he can be quite the helper for the Rockets.

He was also in his contract year. I'm not saying that he can't play, I'm just saying that it certainly was a factor.

I like Bonzi's game. Like Nitro has said, he is a good 3rd scoring option, and he's also one of the best rebounding 2-guards in the league. I don't know exactly where he'll play though, likely as the 6th man with the possibility of moving Battier to the 4 with Bonzi at the 2. I think he'd be better off coming off the bench, and I think Battier would be better off starting at the 3. They need to get themselves a real 4 though, because Hayes' energy coming off the bench is huge. They don't have that option now, with the Howard trade.

Even though he is a great 3rd scoring option, it is better to get the big 2 started off along with the role players that feed off of the double teams Yao/T-Mac recieve. Bonzi doesn't need to get into that kind of flow as he is an isolation player who primarily plays pretty close to the basket. He would also be a big boost off the bench.
