http://allstarballot.nba.com/ballot?referrer=asb14_por&cid=asb14_por Looking at the ballot. Three starters named at forward. It could well be that KG gets voted in. Or two centers and a SF. Maybe he won't be the starter, but how about as a reserve? It looks to me like a reasonable case can be made. Right now he's leading the team in scoring, and is 2nd in rebounding behind Noah. He's a 17/8 guy right now, shooting .573 from the field. His 23.1 PER is all-star level. Bosh is 17/6 on .522 shooting. 21.6 PER. Drummond is 12/12 on .644 shooting with a 21.5 PER. Illyasova is out, played in just 3 games so far. Millsap is 16/7 on .519 shooting with a 21.2 PER. Monroe is 16/9.5 on .495 shooting with a 19.3 PER. Thompson is 13/10 on .448 shooting with a 13.8 PER. West is 11/7 on .455 shooting with a 16.5 PER. Am I missing anyone? Guys like Horford who are listed as C on basketball-reference, I didn't include. It's early in the season, and Boozer's PER and scoring average have already come down from astronomic levels. The scoring and rebounding figures are lower than he's done in the past, so it seems like he may be able to maintain those. He was an all-star in the west with per 36 numbers of 21.8/12.2/24.1 PER and 21.8/10.7/21.9 PER. His per 36 this season is 20.4/9.7/23.1.
If you had to choose the EC all star team right now and did it on stats, Boozer would be a mortal lock. He's played very, very well.
