Boozer Learned From The Best In Beijing

Jazz forward Carlos Boozer barely played for the United States Olympic team in Beijing, but the experience helped him prepare for the upcoming season.

"Over there, I learned from some of the best players," Boozer said.

"It was more of a mental thing – more mental preparation for this season than physical - because we never stopped playing. It was great to watch what was going on, to practice against them (his "Redeem Team" teammates) and to learn a great deal."

Utah Coach Jerry Sloan believes that Boozer is a winner, and it's a big reason why he was in Beijing and will help lead the Jazz this season.

"He's won all his life. That's what I try to tell these guys today – everyone thinks you have to have numbers, but you have to win," Sloan explained.

"He didn't play a lot, but he was part of the team. He accepted that. That's what being a player is all about. I haven't heard him say one negative thing at all."
