Damn, Z is making more money in 4 games than Boozer is in the whole season?
Boozer's contract's going to be alot bigger next time, that's for sure;)

yes, for sure. This season, I would in fact given Boozer more money than Z in many months, this month, the same.

If boozer could learn to play better man to man D, he would be much more valuable.
I think his D will become a lot better, I think some people forget how young he is just because he went to college.

Boozer deserves to be paid like a franchise player. The only problem is that there's people on the Cleveland roster called Lebron James and Zydrunas Ilgauskas. If he's on a team like the Hawks or Bobcats, he should get around 6 million.

Paxson actually pulled off a good move for once.

That third year team option was GENIUS because we can let this season end, pick up that option and then have Boozer be a restricted FA after next season.

Boozer is going to be a Cavalier for the next 6 years at least. Book it.

This is probably Paxsons best move outside dumping all those contracts (Kemp, Sura, Henderson, Knight). Boozer is indeed deseving of a substantial upgrade. But to say he should be paid more than Z is wrong! Whether or not Booz puts up better numbers is irrelevant! Z is a talented 7'3 center. That is a rare breed. Booz is a tough 6'9 power forward. Quite coomon this species. Basically what I am saying, the rarer species get paid the bigger dollars. Z desrves good money, just not 14.5million!

Boozer isn't going anywhere next year. He will definatly be a Cav and Pax will definatly throw the bux out to make sure of it.

^ I would never pay Boozer Brad Miller money! 69 million over 7 years. Please!

Question: even though we have an option for next year, can we choose instead to resign him to a different deal this summer?

My thoughts are that we can!

If we wanted to resign him this summer, I think we have to waive that team option for next season and he would become an unrestricted FA. So I don't think we will do that.

My guess is that we will pick up that option, let Boozer play next season at the minimum and then reward him very well with a Kenny Thomas type deal.

7 years 50 million if I'm not mistaken.

7 million a season is not that bad for a guy who will probably average something like 16 and 12 and shoot 50% for those 6 or 7 seasons.

I don't know I would like to have him be paid more like 5 mil a year rather than 7 but whatever we need to do in order to have Boozer inked for a long time

    Yeah I know CBBI.

Just closes the door a little on getting a quality free agent.

I guess we are not looking at a draft pick so there is money saved. We can let Williams walk so theres some more space.

Thats 7-8 million on space! Stephon Jackson???

I dunno if I want to use more money to lock up mediocre free agents.... the Newble signing continues to haunt my dreams.

That team option could turn out to be a curse as well. It would suprise me if the Cavs wanted to exercise that team option because that would essentially force Carlos to play out another full season horribly underpaid at 695,000. Which he might not look upon with favor!!

In addition to that, at the end of the option year, he'd be at full bird rights, and any other team could extend an offer which the Cavs would have to match if they wanted to retain his services. That could cost them a bundle!

From Carlos' standpoint, if he gets talked into signing long term after this season, the most the Cavs can offer him is the MLE for 6yrs, and you could make a case for his being worth far more!!.....Result.....He leaves a bunch of money on the table.

I could see a deal for 2 years at the MLE with a Player Option after the first year, thereby allowing them to renegotiate long term after next season for what he's worth.

What's he worth????.....With continued strong play, barring injury or other misfortue, if he continues to put up Brad Miller numbers, I can see him being worth Brad Miller money.........Last I looked that was about 69mil over 7yrs.

Just the way I see it................Tank</div>

    Tankster is GOD!!!!!!!
