But soon, Carlos Boozer finally anticipates, his days as a spectator will be done.
And not a day too soon.
"It was tough (Friday night), watching these guys battle," Boozer said Saturday, after running through non-contact plays with four teammates ? yet another step in the road to recovery from injuries that have kept him out since last Feb. 14.
"It was tough, because, you know, when you're a competitor you want to get out there and help out so bad ? especially games like Friday night," he added. "Blowouts, you still want to be out there ? but not as bad as when it's a close game, and it's coming down to the wire, and the crowd is going crazy.
"That's exciting basketball, and you want to be a part of that, and I want to be a part of that."
If all goes well during a couple practices later this week, Boozer can.
"Whenever he's ready to play, I need to get him on the floor," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said Saturday. "But I've got to see him out here first. We have three days off next week. We won't practice Tuesday. But we will practice Wednesday and Thursday. That should give us a little bit of an idea to see where he is, and play it as we go."</div>
