When Diaw makes up his mind to be agrressive and get to the rim nobody can stop him. However, I have noticed that Diaw will become very aggressive against two teams. The first is the San Antonio Spurs and the second is the Golden State Wariors. I have noticed this phenomenan for some time now and I believe it is because his friends Parker and Pietrus are on these teams. It seems like he wants to show these two the skills he probably used against them when they all played in France together. Anyways just wondered if anyone else sees this, if you have not thought about it check him out against Golden State.
I did notice he plays well against Golden State, because last year he had a triple-double against 'em and this year he's had a triple-double and another game with 10 points, 9 assists, & 9 rebounds. I just figured it was because Golden State must be a good matchup for him, they obviously have a hard time defending a point-forward, plus they are a run & gun team, so that always bodes well for stats. His first game against the Spurs this year wasn't very good, he was still over-weight and had 4 points, 4 assist, and 5 rebounds. Last year he had one near triple-double against them, but the other games weren't much. If anything I'd say he plays well against Dallas (he's averaged 18.8 PPG 4.5 APG 7.5 RPG against them while with the Suns, including a triple-double, six 20+ point games, and two of those were 30+ point games). I think it has more to do with the matchup than anything though.
Diaw has so nice post moves. It looks like that he's a SG-SF, but he just overplays the big men on the post. So valuable player for the Suns.
