Bosh, Bargnani lead Raptors to win

The Toronto Raptors had just enough to beat an injury-riddled team playing its second game in as many nights -- and things are about to get a lot more difficult.

Chris Bosh had 25 points and Andrea Bargnani added 22 points and 12 rebounds as the Raptors held off the Detroit Pistons 110-99 on Wednesday. Hedo Turkoglu added 16 points and six assists for the Raptors (2-2), who erupted for 44 points in the second quarter, then held off a spirited second-half charge from the Pistons to end a two-game losing streak.

Ben Gordon had a game-high 30 points for the Pistons (2-3), while ex-Raptors forward Charlie Villanueva added 16 and Will Bynum had 16 off the bench. Rodney Stuckey chipped in with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The win was a pivotal one for the Raptors, who will play seven of their next eight games away from Toronto. They begin a three-game trip in New Orleans on Friday, then return home for a game against Chicago next Wednesday before heading out on a four-game jaunt to the West Coast.

Raptors head coach Jay Triano said he doesn't see the point in worrying about the trip, which will include games against West powers San Antonio, Denver, New Orleans and Utah.

"To be honest, I haven't even thought of the road trip," Triano said after the game. "I'm not going to look at a back-to-back and think of the second game, I'm going to play them one at a time and do whatever we can to try and win games, and sweep them all."

If the Raptors don't work on improving their defence -- they allowed 99 points to a team that came in averaging just 87 per game -- future victories may be scarce.
