Although he acknowledged the need to pursue the "remnants" of the terrorist group and its affiliates, the overall message was clear – al-Qaeda was badly degraded, the tides of war were receding and the US was winning this fight that was no longer even officially a war. The Boston bombings would appear to present a fundamental challenge to that assessment and once again bring the nagging uncertainty of terrorism back on to the American main street.
I think the past two presidents did their best to protect us. They're human. One bad call and something like the bombings in Boston happen. Anyone think there'll be a "Loose Change" style conspiracy hit piece about Obama and the bombing in Boston? I don't.
This is all a ploy to scare the American Public so we'll readily accept higher taxes so the government can increase spending and do as they please. We'll believe it's necessary so we're properly protected.
To be honest, I can't tell if those UK sources are any better than the National Enquirer. Or one is owned by Murdoch and the other by Soros. But it's not US news sources.
Well no shit the brothers weren't working alone. I think that was pretty much obvious. I'm also not sure that I believe the uncle that's living here in the states that was all pissed off about it. Now there saying the lad is in serious condition and we may never get answers. WHAT GIVES..........
I don't want to know anything about it. This is one area where I'd love to be deceived. Let me think they acted alone, let me hear nothing about his condition and then let me hear in a few months that a ring has been arrested. Yawn. No other media has reported any sleeper cell. That story was made up to sell papers. As I posted in another thread, the bomber search strangely occurred while CISPA was surprisingly passed in the House. This is the bill allowing intelligence agencies to spy on us more thoroughly. Last vote, many major sites went down for the day to demonstrate opposition. This time, opposition was all quiet because by a strange coincidence, the bombing happened.
They're saying on the news this morning that police think the bombers acted on their own without any outside assistance. I think we have to wait and see how things play out.
