Gerald went from his career night to a complete stinker the past 2 games. In Dallas, he was awesome, in San Antonio, he was burnt almost every time defensively and he was not aggressive with his offense. We need aggressive Gerald every night.

Chandler has established himself as one of the NBA's best rebounders and shot blockers, he needs to make sure he takes care of business tonight. Guys like Al Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins (especially with the way Perk has been playing lately) aren't easy tasks in the paint. Both can rebound (Al top 10 rebounder as well), and Big Al is clearly an outstanding low post player.

Two lightning quick point guards, two playmakers, two excellent young guards. Chris Paul obviously better now than Rondo will ever be, but this quickness matchup is going to be amazing. Both make things happen.

CelticBalla's Extra Thoughts/Notes
New Orleans is fighting for their lives to get one of those final playoff spots, so you can bank on them coming out and playing hard for 48 minutes. They want/need as many wins as they can get, and they are the better team. They know that, but I don't think they'll take us lightly either. They can't afford to take anyone lightly.

CelticBalla's Prediction
I think we might come out with a win. We are just playing so damn well lately, on both ends, and our confidence level must be at an all-time high after the win in San Antonio.

Nothing more I'd love than another huge win. Can't wait to see Rondo and Paul square off, and it'll be interesting to see if Al can out work and flat out beat Tyson on the boards tonight, because Tyson has been ridiculous on the boards this year.

I disagree with GG as the X-factor...I think Al is the x-factor..he needs to box out Tyson Chandler and control the boards..that's where the game will be won with al and tyson..2 warriors on the boards...on second chance pointsthat's just my opinion though

Yes, but I figured we pretty much know what Al will give us every night. But we need some production off the bench. Gomes is arguably our most consistent player, so he's great off the bench, but he's hurt. Gerald is the only one than has the ability to carry the load offensively in the second unit. He can do it, he has done it, but he doesn't consistently do it. I think if we can get solid production from Gerald off the bench tonight, we'll be in solid shape.

Sorry to say, but Pierce is going to get posterized tonight by Mason. Atleast ONCE tonight. We are winning this one. We just came off a great win in San Antonio, I think we can contain the Hornets. Also - I think New Orleans X-Factor is David West. He has had some good games against us this year.

We have only played them once. Eastern Conference teams and Western Conference teams only play each other twice a year.

Tonight was just horrible. I'm not even going to write a full recap like usual, because it's basically pointless. We had a good first quarter, but the rest of the game was downright awful on both ends of the floor for the Celtics. Pierce was hitting shots, but that was it. Big Al scored 9 points tonight... ALL IN THE 1st QUARTER. They didn't feed the big fella in the post, it was ridiculous. Rondo had some good moments and some bad moments. Nobody else did anything worth talking about, really, the bench was horrible (except for Powe). Just a bad game.

Player Stat Lines
Paul Pierce: 28 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 4 turnovers on 11-18 shooting, 4-7 from 3
Al Jefferson: 9 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks on 4-7 shooting
Rajon Rondo: 6 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals on 3-11 shooting
Leon Powe: 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal on 4-7 shooting
Allan Ray: 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist on 4-15 shooting, 2-3 from 3
Gerald Green: 11 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block on 4-9 shooting, 1-2 from 3
Delonte West: 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block on 2-7 shooting, 0-1 from 3
Sebastian Telfair: 7 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal on 2-6 shooting, 1-1 from 3
Kendrick Perkins: 3 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist on 1-2 shooting
Michael Olowokandi: 1 rebound

Next Game: Wednesday (3/21/07) at home vs. Charlotte at 7:30 pm ET. I will be there, so that's one good thing. "The battle for the 2nd worst record."
