Come on, let's close out the road trip with a win and make it 3 straight. Wally Szczerbiak WILL play. Also: Will Iverson catch a ride to Boston with us? CelticBalla's Prediction I think we are going to take this one. We HAVE to with no Allen Iverson in the lineup.
Look Cb32 Im sorry, but Ive put this off way way way to long, everytime I read your game thread, You always put Pierce in your key matchup. Then I always notice this:sry again, but I always laugh at that
That's hot! Anyway, the Celtics have got a lotta momentum, coming off 2 straight wins..... There's no reason for them to lose this game against the Sixers with no Iverson playing.... It just looks weird with Kevin Ollie starting in his place though! If the C's can getta win here, that'll be 3 in a row, and hell who knows? Maybe they could go on a bit of a streak (most like it's wishful thinking)... But anything is possible!
As much as I would love for the Sixers to get this win, I dont see it happening. even though the Celtics have had a similar season in terms of winning, the Sixers are team that is confused right now. Th AI situation has put them on a hiatus and has take their confidence.
Playaofthegame's Analysis:-Al Jefferson will get a double-double-Gerald Green will dunk on somebody and posterize them-Pierce will drop 40+- Celtics will win

QUOTE (playaofthegame @ Dec 13 2006, 02:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Playaofthegame's Analysis: -Al Jefferson will get a double-double -Gerald Green will dunk on somebody and posterize them -Pierce will drop 40+ - Celtics will win
- Al has been awesome as of late, and with Philly's frontline, I could see a 3rd straight double-double. - You say Gerald will throw down on someone every game haha, he has yet to do it. Let's try some reverse psycology here: How about nobody says Gerald will dunk on Friday vs. Denver, and he will then!
Friday vs Denver I'm going so he better toss a few slammos back. I wanna see some high quality sh*t that night.
I think that the game has already started but I dont know what is going on yet so I will give my prediction. I think that the C's are going to take this one pretty easily. The Sixers have been playing horrible as of late. They dont have the glue to their team, and they have been in alot of contraversy latley that has most likely sidetracked them. They are a terrible defensive ball club with no #1 option. The celtics on the other hand have Paul Pierce. Also, I dont see anybody on the Sixers being able to guard Big Al. And, I dont think Ollie will be able to keep up with Bassy or Rondo. I say easy win for the C's tonight.
wow I dont think either team could have played worse in that half..Al played amazing though, my favorite play was when he blocked webber three times on one posession. 4 points 11 boards 3 assists 3 blocks, hes been looking amazing. in the 2nd half I'd like to see the celtics look for him and gomes more. webbers defense is nearly nonexistant and can easily be feasted upon by gomes as he can step up and jump shoot it or drive on webber. either way the celtics need to step up and start beating a team they should beat.
my goddamn satellite provider sucks, so I can't watch the game. :ranting:from the boxscore:big al has 11 rebounds at halftime, holy sh*t. He's really soming into his own lately. And he's been consistent, on both ends.TA has 12 points. Wally's back. pretty moderate boxscore, but 3 assists is nice.
Yeah, like you said, Tony is playing real well. Wally has been pretty quiet, seems as if he's feeling himself back into the game. Gerald looked lost a bit, one absolutely terrible pass among other things, except for one pretty nice dunk.
Willie needs to heat things up in this second half. kill boston!!I just know the celtics are going to come out on top here so mehh.. but I am hoping for the best for my 76ers.
I was talking to welcometothejungle over aim and he pointed our something interesting to me. Telfair and Green aren't playing very much.. does this mean they could be involved in a deal for ai?? I hope so. :shifty2: I mean, I would hate to lose gerald, but I would definitely rather keep Al.

playaofthegame, there is a chat room 24 hours a day on celticsblog. You can go in it at any time. People usually aren't in it unless there is a game, but there is a chat open every minute of the day. Go to the home page, look on the top right where it says Live Chat. But good win! Yeeeeaaah! 3 in a row for the 2nd time in 2 seasons (lmao that is sad). Granted, it was an Iversonless Sixer team, but I don't care. A win is a win, and not only have we won 3 in a row, they have all been on the road. Paul Pierce 18 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists on 6-12 shooting (3-6 from 3) Pierce played pretty solid. He played within the flow of the offense and he didn't force anything really. He wasn't as aggressive offensively, but he didn't have to be with the way Ryan Gomes and Tony Allen played. Ryan Gomes 18 points, 7 rebounds on 7-10 shooting Gomes is the most consistant player on the Celtics, and I love him. He was doing everything right tonight, and his offense really came to him. He was hitting open jumpers, schooling Webber off the dribble, getting points inside, everything. Great job by Gomes tonight. Tony Allen 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal on 6-12 shooting TA IS BACK ladies and gentlemen! He really played a great game tonight, on both ends of the floor. The defense is back in early 2005 form, or pretty close to it, and his offense is coming together because he is playing within the offense now. He isn't trying to shake n bake every time now, he's picking his spots and playing very well. GO TA!!! Al Jefferson 6 points, 13 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks on 3-7 shooting Big Al had a beastly first half. He made great passes off post position to TA and Gomes, he owned the glass, he blocked Webber 3 times in a matter of 5 seconds, and he was extremely active. But again.. WE DIDNT GET HIM THE DAMN BALL ON OFFENSE!! What the hell is up with that? Delonte West 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, 1 block on 5-9 shooting (2-4 from 3) D-West played very well off the bench. He hit 2 big three's played solid defense, and really hustled and ran the floor. We need this from Delonte consistantly, like last season. Wally Szczerbiak 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists on 5-10 shooting Wally came back after a week of not playing (sprained ankle), and he came back off the bench. He did a fairly solid job, and he was moving pretty decently. I'll tell you one thing: if Tony Allen keeps playing like this, I wouldn't mind Wally as a 6th man. Gerald Green 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 steal on 2-3 shooting (4-6 FT) in 17 mins G-Money played pretty solid. He had a tough time bothering Korver's high arcing shots, but he stuck with him. Offensively, he played well. He was real aggressive and he was really attacking the basket. He also had a pretty nice dunk. Not a bad game from Gerald. Brian Scalabrine 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist on 1-2 shooting Had a nice cleanup play, and a nice pass to Gerald Green (resulting in a highlight), but not much else. Overall, not terrible, not great. Really not much to talk about. Rajon Rondo 4 points, 2 steals on 2-3 shooting in 6 minutes RONDO SHOULD PLAY MORE! HE FRIGGEN MAKES THINGS HAPPEN! Sebastian Telfair 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal on 0-1 shooting in 15 minutes This is Telfair's second scoreless night over the past 3 games. He is not playing well. He didn't even play a lot tonight, and he didn't deserve to. Telfair needs to step up, wow. Leon Powe 2 points, 3 rebounds on 2-2 FT in 8 minutes Powe only really got garbage time, except for about 2:30. I guess all I can say about his play is: whatever. Allan Ray 1 steal on 0-1 shooting in 5 minutes Garbage time, the Philly crowd loves him (Villanova product). Next Game Friday at home vs. Denver at 7:30 pm ET.
