<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Pre-game rhetoric aside, the key matchup of Wednesday's Spurs-Seattle SuperSonics game at the SBC Center got turned on its head.

It was supposed to be about Bruce Bowen's dirty defense vs. Ray Allen's sweet shot. But Bowen, while frustrating Allen once again, made an equal impact at the offensive end.

Including an unchallenged 3-pointer at the buzzer, Allen outscored Bowen 21-14. But their matchup effectively was a push because Bowen was far more efficient, needing only seven shots to get his 14 while Allen took 19.

It is evident Bowen messes with Allen's head with a lock-down defensive approach Allen insists is dirty. There has been some nastiness between the two in the past, and Allen refused Wednesday to soften his assertion that Bowen crosses the line with aggressive defensive tactics.

When it was suggested to Allen that Bowen believes he just plays defense more vigorously than most, but keeps it clean, Allen disagreed.

"In his right mind, I know he doesn't believe that 100 percent," Allen said. "I agree with him he plays hard, but there's a lot of other stuff that's outside the realm of playing hard. We all see it. The referees see it, but sometimes they just ignore it, for whatever reason they have. We all see the things that toe the line of being dirty basketball. </div>

Somebody please get Ray Allen a dress. Why does he keep complaining to the Media? They cant do anything to fix the situation even if Bowen is dirty. If I was Bruce Bowen I would be sitting back laughting, Knowing I can get into Ray's head like he can. The only time I ever agreed with ex-bucks coach Karl was last season when he said Ray was too soft. That is one of the things that seperates him from the likes of a kobe. Bruce Bowen had alot of success against Kobe last season, but you never heard kobe run to the media & basically say "He guarding me to hard". Ray's a great player but he needs to let these one go.

okay...are you insisting the he should wear a dress because he's being a girl and you're assuming all girls talking things seriously and too personally? I guess you got the last thing right, cause we do take things SERIOUSLY and PERSONALLY. I know he should drop it, but at the same time, I agree with him, that one game that Bowen played vs. Allen was HARDCORE. I mean, just foul play seriously. I'm not even being biased on this case, but I saw some of the plays that he did, and it wasn't even just blocking or hard defense...enough of this anyways...hmm...

Ray shouldn't be coming to the media, he's always been outspoken and a lot of the time it goes against him. Henacy is completely right in saying it'll only make the situation worse as Bruce knows he can get into Ray's head. I have always thought Bowen crosses the line, dating back to his flykick on Wally's forehead, but there's nothing you can do about it.

PS - I'm happy to separate Kobe from Ray, as long as Ray continues to kick his butt like he always does when they go one on one.

ok ok I dropped it...lolz. I was just a bit upset, cause I'd probably do the same thing...except not tell it to the media..I'd just look upset...then again, things like that would get through to my head...not because I'm a girl, cause most girls don't take things THAT seriously, but I'm just an oversensitive type of person. I guess Ray's that way too....something that's bad that we have in common...whoopee...

Interesting to see that Michael Finley, another noted sportsman, came out and accused Bowen of committing cheap shots in the media.
