A pair of incidents from a Blue Jackets-Wild preseason game last week have resulted in suspensions and fines for players from both teams.

Blue Jackets defenseman James Wisniewski was suspended for the rest of the preseason and for eight regular-season games for a check he delivered to the head of Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck as the third period of Friday's game ended.

Wild forward Brad Staubitz was also suspended for the rest of the preseason and the first three regular-season games for an illegal check on Columbus' Cody Bass from behind during the game. Bass was injured when Staubitz hit him and sent him into the glass.
