Only he'll be doing it in Spain.

Bradley, a former star at Villanova, said yesterday he has agreed to a one-year contract with Bruesa Gipuzkoa of the First Division Spanish ACB League. The team is based in San Sebastian on Spain's northern coast.

Bradley became an unrestricted free agent after averaging 1.5 points and 2.3 rebounds in 46 games last season for the Sixers. But interest in him from other NBA teams was lacking, and he decided to weigh offers from Lithuania, Italy and Spain before making a decision to go overseas.

"It's the top division in Spain and competition-wise it's going to be decent," Bradley said in a telephone interview.

"In a way, I'm a little disappointed that the NBA didn't come through. But I haven't played much in the last two seasons so this will be good for me to make a fresh start and get back to playing basketball. It got stale being the last guy on the bench, so I'm going to turn this into a positive for my basketball career."

A story announcing the 6-foot-10 Bradley's signing on the Spanish-language Web site marca.com said Bruesa Gipuzkoa needs a rebounder and a big man to beef up its inside game.

Bradley, 27, the 17th overall pick of the 2001 NBA draft, played five seasons for Toronto, Atlanta, Orlando, Sacramento and the Sixers. He came to Philadelphia as part of the six-player deal with the Kings in which the Sixers acquired Chris Webber on Feb. 23, 2005.

Bradley said the money he'll make in Spain is comparable to what he earned last season ($819,550) with the Sixers, plus his new team will pay for his apartment and his car.

"If I play well this season, I could go back to the NBA or open up my options in Europe," he said. "I want to keep my career going. Hopefully, it will all work out."

I think he will perform well overseas. When he was given playing time he was a solid player in the league unfortunately he never lived up to expectations that where placed upon him based on where he was slated in his draft class, injures didn’t help matters. I doubt he will ever be back in the league, better players then him have chosen the option of going overseas and have yet to return to the league (Wagner, Frank Williams, etc.) and at his age I don’t see him generating much interest.
