<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"LSU star basketball player Brandon Bass is considered by many to be a low, first-round draft choice at best, but a close associate told a national media outlet Tuesday that Bass is leaning to declaring himself eligible for the June 28 draft. The deadline for Bass' decision is Monday, May 16, and once he declares, he cannot change his mind and go back to LSU. He entered his name last year, worked out for 11 teams and learned he would likely not go in the first round and pulled out. NBA rules do not allow a prospect to do that twice." Reado, who did not return a call to Gannett on Tuesday night, told ESPN.com that he had spoken to eight NBA personnel people who told him Bass would go in either the late first round or early second round." If Bass plans on being a PF in the NBA, then he's out of his mind- He's got SF size(6-7). He still needs to improve his jump shot and outside shot, but won't be able to considering that he must go NBA now since he attended the pre-draft camp last year too. He has soft hands, and is always around the ball. He'll be a mid second rounder most likely but is going to need to improve his game.

A ton of players that should be steals in the second round, some potential steals include Bass, Ronny Turiaf, Salim Stoudamire, Daniel Ewing, Luther Head, Shawne Williams, Louis Williams, Sean Banks, Julius Hodge, Alan Anderson, and Kelenna Azubuike. Then you have your players that can slip into the second round and be considered steals. Wow thats a pretty big list, some might even have a chance at going undrafted and being a steal. An very deep draft class.
I heard that Julius Hodge has been looking great in the per camp activities thus far. It just didn't state which position he plans on playing at. It seems like he played PG, SG, and SF at NC State. He's 6'6 so I guess he'll be used as a SG most likely. He was very inconsistent this year with NC State and needs to gain more weight if he plans on being a productive player in the NBA.
U Haslim and Reggie Evans were, because they were not 6-10,seen as not fit to draft-and now start on teams still alive in the playoffs. The Suns now use Marion as an undersize PF and they are having a great season. Bass gets boards, scores, which is the main thing,a 6-10 who is too soft is not a better PF
