I find this really odd..... reminds me of Ruben asking for Kobe's shoes after Kobe lit him up for something like 40 points. Maybe I'm old school this just doesn't seem right to me.
Maybe people like to build their collection and have a memorabilia room. Like the...shoot, can't think of name...(Prefontaine?) building at Nike where they have a ton of memorabilia. Or maybe a player, if they got lit up, will put it in their gym and use it as motivation to get better. Who knows.
Heh. You've got a point. It's kind of creepy anyway, to tell you the truth. I can see a 10-year-old fan asking for the shoes, but another player?? A little creepy.
Mark Madsen's gravestone should have a video screen with this playing for eternity <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_1ciMXvSE8U&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_1ciMXvSE8U&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
iirc, reggie miller's house burnt to the ground a few years back and he lost a TON of this memorbilia stuff. i think it's fairly common and was wondering why every got so pissed at martell last year.
