<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What figured to be a difficult decision next year was taken out of Wright's hands when NBA owners and the players' union settled in principle on a new collective bargaining agreement, establishing a minimum draft age of 19. Eligible players must also have been removed from high school for at least one year.

Wright, widely regarded as the No. 2 rising high school senior in the nation, is slated to graduate next spring and will not meet the age mandate until Oct. 5, 2006.

    His reaction to the rule?

"It's not a bad one," said Wright, who returned Tuesday from a Nike skills camp in Oregon for 18 of the country's elite recruits. "It will help the league out. But I feel bad for the person that needs to go to the league and help his family financially right away."

Wright said he is not facing such a predicament.

"It will help me," he said. "It will give me time to improve a few things, and it takes a tough decision out of my hands.

"I definitely agree this is going to help the college game and players. Instead of going to the NBA and sitting the bench, you have a chance to play in college."

Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina remain in the lead for Wright's services. Louisville, Wake Forest, Kansas and Georgia Tech fall into his second tier of college options.

Wright said his choice would come "at the very end" of the recruiting process.</div>

I really like Kentucky's chances of landing Wright. Duke and UNC are already stacking up for 2006 and I think if Wright is going to wait until the very end to make a decision, then Kentucky has to be the favorite. He'll get much more playing time of he goes to Kentucky with Sparks being a senior. We have 5 or 6 scholorships after this year, so we're going to have a shot at landing some of the best prospects with the new age limit rule.
