http://mmajunkie.com/news/21887/chu...official-named-vp-of-business-development.mma As of today Liddell will stop fighting in the Octagon and become the new VP of business development for the UFC. What that entails I'm not exactly certain. Liddell, 41, has the most wins in UFC history (16). He defeated Randy Couture at UFC 52 to become the UFC LWH Champion. He defended the title four times before losing for a second time to Quinton Jackson at UFC 71. Liddell has since gone 1-4 in the UFC and was knocked out in his last three fights. Liddell was scheduled to face longtime rival Tito Ortiz in 2010 but Ortiz backed out of the bout citing an injury. Ortiz fought Matt Hamill in October, four months after Liddell lost to Ortiz's replacement opponent Rich Franklin. Liddell is a member of the UFC Hall of Fame.
He had a hell of a run and was arguably the poster boy for MMA's explosion onto the American scene. I'm glad he decided to hang them up, I just hope it isn't too late for his mental health.
