Why? I thought he had played through this once before in HS. Is the surgery just to repair the meniscus, or is it an exploratory surgery to see if there is more injured area than what is showing up on an MRI.
They worded it as out for the first round, I wonder if they're leaving the door open for him to come back if they advance. As slim as it would be, there's nice to hope.
I never believed that he would actually play in the playoffs. I thought he might try for a couple minutes, but I never believed he would be able to play at a level that would be useful. Bummer.
I think they said on the radio by the time end of his recovery, it'd be the WCF, which ... seems unlikely. But who knows.
I feel bad for Roy, as he was playing real well this season. But, no point in playing less than 100%. I guess Batum & LMA will be the only returning starters from last season's playoff team. It's just so weird how much difference just one year can make from what was a very good 54-win team.
All I can say is ....... DAMN! We have had a rough ass season. I hope our guys can step up and be competitive.
I am happy that he is doing it. A limited B Roy is not going to carry us to the second round. It will also make me very glad that we will not see the Blazers get a huge lead, then squander it running B Roy on isolations for 6 minutes. Come back healthy and see what this team can do pushing the pace/passing the ball the first 16 seconds of the shot clock.
