If Mike Brown is ever fired (and I think there's good chance of that happening in the near future), the last 6 winners of the Coach of the Year award will no longer be with the teams that they won the award with. And only one of them will still be employed by another team.
This somewhat came as a shock to me, and it's unfortunate for Byron. He's a very good coach and I'm sure he'll find a new job next offseason. I'm half-expecting ESPN to go snatch him up to be an analyst. As it stands though, I think it was a semi-necessary move. The Hornets were struggling this year and needed a new voice, so hopefully, for their sakes, this turns their season around for the better.
