<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Denver Nuggets need some breathing space from luxury-tax territory. The Milwaukee Bucks need backcourt scoring to counter their injury crisis. That's why the teams, according to NBA front-office sources, are combining on a trade featuring Earl Boykins that will be announced later Thursday. Now 10 games into the Allen Iverson Era, Denver has agreed to send Boykins and little-used forward Julius Hodge to the Bucks for guard Steve Blake.</div>LinkFinally it happens... :thumbdn1: I just thought we'd get a better deal... Boykins has been a tremendous scorer and Hodge has shown he can pass and play some D...But Blake is a guard with size, passing and good outside shooting... all areas that we need. The Bucks haven't used him in constant rotation and his stats have suffered a bit. But the Nuggets could be the right team for him.
Your post beat mine by 1 min...lolAny way, I was hoping the Cavaliers would get in on this and get Boykins...Al well.
Boykins is just so under the radar despite his recent strong play... I'm sure well before this, other teams knew that we'd deal him for this very reason. But there was no rumor that deals were being discussed... I don't think many teams have called the Nuggets about Boykins where they could have and it would have been better for us to field offers and narrow down the best... Oh well, good luck in Milwaukee Earl !
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Boykins is just so under the radar despite his recent strong play</div>Was that a short joke...I think that the Nugs could of got more, but still a solid deal.
lol... ^ sorry about my English it can confuse sometimes. What I'm trying to say is he's not a high-profile player like Corey Maggette/ Ron Artest and when it's clear he's going to be traded... not many teams showed interest although imo they should have.
I'm not sure how I feel about this situation, I have wanted to trade Boykins since the beginning of last season. He doesn't play good defense, he dribbles the ball around too much, he can't create for his teammates very well. I wanted him to move but I expected to get more out of him then Steve Blake.Despite his flaws he was our main offensive source off the bench. Now that Boykins is gone we don't have any solid scoring options coming off the bench for us. We certainly don't have any solid scoring guards except for our starting lineup. I don't mind Steve Blake, he's a pure point guard with excellent court vision. He should play very well into our fast break offense, that's the area he excels in the most.I think this trade is going to hurt us more than help us.http://www.bball-world.net/forum/index.php...mp;#entry256959 :lock:
