BREAKING: Several Black Lives Matter Protesters Were Just Shot by White Supremacists in Minneapolis
A peaceful demonstration for Jamar Clark and Black Lives Matter exploded into violence late Monday night in Minneapolis when suspected white supremacists opened fire on the protesters.

Early reports seemed to indicate that only two had been shot, but it appears that a total of five people have been shot. The AP confirmed five with the police, supporting what many other protesters stated via Twitter.

The suspects at this time are white males in ski masks. Protesters have alleged that they were white supremacists based on their earlier behavior and presence at the rally, and police and others say that they are equipped with bullet-proof vests. Misky Noor, a Black Lives Matter spokeswoman, told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, “A group of white supremacists showed up at the protest, as they have done most nights.” Protesters tried to eject them peacefully when they suddenly opened fire about a block away from the 4th precinct.

DeRay Mckesson, activist and outspoken advocate for black rights, is on the scene and is reporting that there have been incidents of police macing protesters at the scene after the shootings. Other live reports corroborate the use of mace by police.

Furthermore, activist @micamaryjane has been on the scene and stated that it took 15 minutes for ambulances to arrive and provide support for the wounded protesters.

The exact condition of those harmed is still unknown, though there have not been any reports of fatalities at this time. Police are expected to recover after short hospital stays.

Protesters were staging a demonstration around the 4th Precinct in Minneapolis to protest the killing of Jamar Clark, whom witnesses say was handcuffed on the ground when shot by the police. Protesters have been demanding justice and the release of video surveillance footage that the police have not yet released.

This story is still developing. This article will be updated to keep up with the latest developments as the full situation becomes clearer.

Unfortunately I think this kind of thing was inevitable. The BLM movement is a pretty big target for these kinds of groups. They're vocal, they're visible, and they're spreading a message that's bound to piss these kinds of hate groups off.

    Here is the AP report

    http://bigstory.ap.org/article/846e...neapolis-police-say-5-shot-near-protest-scene

Minneapolis police say 5 shot near protest scene

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minneapolis police searched Tuesday for three white gunmen suspected of shooting at five Black Lives Matter demonstrators, while the family of a black man whose death inspired the protests called for an end to demonstrations that have gone on for days outside a police station.

No one was seriously hurt in Monday night's shooting. It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack, which took place about a block from the police department's 4th Precinct, where protesters have been demonstrating since the Nov. 15 death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was shot by a police officer.

Authorities had no one in custody and asked the public for help identifying the suspects.

Henry Habu, who said he has been providing security for protesters, said he and others approached four white people who were standing under a "Justice4Jamar" sign to ask what they were doing there. The group was composed of three men and one woman, with three of them wearing masks that left their eyes exposed.

"We're here for Jamar," one said, according to Habu.

Habu said they tried to escort the four from the scene and they took off running north. Habu said he did not see the shooting that followed, but heard it.

"It happened so fast," he said.

Oluchi Omeoga witnessed the shooting and said a handful of protesters followed three men in masks to a street corner, where the men pulled out weapons and began firing.

Two people were shot in the leg, another in the arm and a fourth in the stomach, said Mica Grimm, an organizer with Black Lives Matter who said she arrived on the scene soon after the shooting.

In a statement released early Tuesday through U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison's office, Clark's family thanked protesters for their "incredible support" but asked, in light of the shootings, that the demonstration outside the precinct offices end and protesters move "onto the next step."

Demonstrators planned to announce their next step later Tuesday following a meeting with community members about strategy.

On Tuesday morning, about 50 protesters were outside of the 4th Precinct, and more were trickling in. Some said they planned to stay despite the Clark family's request.

Habu said a crowd gathered around the shooting scene and police used a chemical irritant to push them back. Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder did not immediately respond to a question about the use of any chemical irritant.

Authorities have said Clark was shot during a struggle with police after he interfered with paramedics who were trying to assist an assault victim. But some people who said they saw the shooting allege Clark was handcuffed.

Protesters and Clark's family have been calling for investigators to release video of the shooting. The state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said it has video from the ambulance, a mobile police camera and other sources, but none of it shows the event in its entirety. The agency, which is conducting a state investigation, said releasing the footage now would taint its investigation.

A federal criminal civil rights investigation is also underway to determine whether police intentionally violated Clark's civil rights through excessive force.

I condemn the racist attacks on these people. However I also condemn the BLM movement. That movement is breeding an incredible aggressive tone/organization; which you can see in some cell phone videos from innocent bystanders. They think if you don't start chanting with them, then you are against them.

Oh so the only witnesses are BLM protestors and they are the one calling them "white supremacists"

Apparently, the protestors have been aggressively kicking out white and asian people from the area as well.

I'm confused why the BLM people would be trying to get rid of white supporters? Granted, I haven't paid a ton of attention to the BLM situation, but that's kinda F'd up. If they're racist, they're no better than white supremacists, and should all be shot.

Sounds like police have arrested two people thus far: one white male, one hispanic male.

Some days, this place sounds like a KKK meeting. I need to just stay away from here.

BLM is a crazy group. Anyone whose been paying attention to them can see that they themselves are very racist and they incite violence and hatred.

    This story is bogus.

True believers in racial equality like BLM would never profile white people who were just standing around minding their own business, call them white supremists even though they'd never met, then physically run them off, and then somehow these white people supposedly had guns in a state where you can't even borrow a pistol from your grandfather without first being "approved" for a state gun permit?

    Yeah, right.
