Washington Times: "Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood has told president of basketball operations Ernie Grunfeld he wants to be traded this summer, according to two team sources and a league source with knowledge of the situation. "

You think the Lakers would be intrested in Haywood. He's a 7 foot big man that can score in the inside and can rebound. He could be a great backup center for the Lakers.

He could be a great starting center for us, especially if we do trade Bynum. Haywood is a good center playing in the worst system of ball for his style of game. The Lakers' style of ball would fit him excellent. If we trade Bynum or not, I'd love to acquire him.

He has a reasonable contract, and gives us some insurance if the Lakers trade Bynum or Kwame.

Haywood really struggled in Washington, because of the pace the Wizards play. He's more of a back to the basket halfcourt post player, which doesn't fit in at all with Arenas, Butler and Jamison flying down the court.

It would also depend on Mihm's status and who the Lakers would have to trade to get Haywood.

Brian Cook for Brendan Haywood would work, and Cook fits in a lot better with the Wizards offensive style.

Hopefully the Lakers could arrange for Antonio Daniels to be part of a trade package.

Daniels and Arenas have been known to be at odds at time, I wouldn't put that too far out of reach IMO.

I don't know much about Brendan Haywood at all. I haven't really seen him play much, but in the games I have seen, he's decent. I wouldn't mind him playing here at all. My only question is, how is his attitude? His fued with Etan Thomas has been well documented. I just don't want him to come here and be a distraction.

he is softer than kwame and bynum, no defense, atleast thats what i think, some other may say otherwise but i still think we would be better of trying to trade for a better player than haywood. plus we should be trying to get that free agent that we desperatly need, and a KG. then once we have finished with getting those two new players we try for the next one, which is probably going to be a center. is magloire a FA, because he would be great on this team, all he needs is a winning team and a good gaurd (kobe) and he will be back to his all star form. make it happen mitch.
