July 2015 21 for 85 .247 August 2015 21 for 101 .208 Sept & Oct 2015 21 for 106 .198 April 2016 18 for 71 .254 May 2016 16 for 78 .205 So for his last five months of baseball he's 97 for 441 which rounded up is .220
I've always said he's a fourth outfielder. On top of that his swing for a while now has been terrible. Just swipes at the ball.
I just don't understand why they keep batting him in the two hole. Why not switch him sometimes with Castro (someone else?)- WTF? At least play the percentages when one or the other is struggling or "hot"? My opinion, Gardy doesn't get the benefit of the doubt - this guy has been a .258 hitter the past two seasons - I wouldn't even mind seeing McCaan or Beltran on occasion batting behind Ellsbury- wouldn't mind seeing those three in a row and beginning the first inn. This is probably too radical for dimwit Joe.
Dear Ann: With Gardner, Ellsbury, DD, Castro, Hicks, I expected a minimum of 120 SB's.... Why this team isn't playing small ball, and taking the extra base is confusing, since they're not consistently driving runners in.... Confused in So. Cal. Ann: take a half bottle of Valium, and remember 'the plan' can never be known outside Tadpole's office...don't fret over things you cannot fix....
I thought he went public with a rogue Press Release, declared himself the "official - unofficial" Captain, at least in the showers....
not worth the price of admission. Sit him for a week, let him think of going back to AAA, or taking a UL role for the OF, with a rookie replacement, give 'em alot to think about, enough to stoke a fire if the embers haven't burned out, ie.
