With Brevin Knight leaving Charlotte should LA go after him? I would love to because he is a smart veteran playmaker and defender and would benefit the Lakers team. Farmar could learn maybe a thing or 2 from him too.

They should, but they have Crittenton and Farmar, and the triangle offense doesn't really need a solid point guard.

Why in the world would we sign him. Yeah, he's an above average point guard, great playmaker, and all that. But he isn't the tallest guard in the bunch, as Phil likes tall guards. Not to mention we already have Farmar who is developing nicely, we have Sasha, and we just drafted Crittenton. Not sure if there is really any room on the roster. Right now we have 11 players on contract, and we still have to sign Luke and maybe Mihm, but that is if we make a trade or something to make room.

I agree with both Lakersfan and SunnyD, that the Lakers really don't need him. Knight really can't shoot the ball well, and Phil Jackson has always liked point guards that have a decent shot on them like Fisher, Harper, BJ Armstrong and those guys. He just wouldn't really fit with this team, and they probably don't even have the roster space for him. However, I think the perfect compliment at point guard would have been Steve Blake if they had room. He's a taller point guard, can shoot the ball well for a point guard, and I think would have been a solid choice for them. But they already have three point guards, having a fourth may be overkill.
