    That's the good news. The bad news is, it appears the Brewers have maxed out their payroll for the year (according to the owner), so pitching help doesn't seem to be imminent. :(

    yeah that stinks to lose cc sabathia, but that means you get a compensatory pick right? same for sheets if he signs?

    they are supposed to get a 1st rounder + another pick, but since the Yankees like to sign all the free agents, they will get screwed....you shouldn't be able to sign someone if you don't have the picks to pay for them, but the league lets the Yanks do whatever the hell they want....

    The Brewers are going to (in theory) get a 2nd rounder from the Yankees for Sabathia. The reason being that Mark Teixeira was a higher rated free agent, so the Angels will get a first rounder and the Brewers a 2nd.

    The Blue Jays are getting really screwed by this because they lost AJ Burnett, their ace, and they're only going to get a 3rd rounder out of it.
