<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Entering his fourth season with the Lakers and second as the team?s television play-by-play announcer, Joel Meyers brings over 20 years of broadcast experience to the organization. Moving over to television from his two-year position as the Lakers? radio play-by-play announcer (2003-2005), Meyers previously served four years as the voice of San Antonio Spurs? television broadcasts before joining the Lakers.

Having worked for ESPN over more than a decade calling college football, college basketball and professional golf, Meyers has also worked for NBC covering the NFL, two Olympic Games as well as the NBA and professional golf.

Meyers? work with the Lakers is actually the second partnership between he and team owner Dr. Jerry Buss as he also served as a broadcaster for Buss? Prime Ticket Network (now FSN West and FSN West 2) at the station?s inception in 1985, calling collegiate baseball as well as indoor soccer.

In addition to his duties with the Lakers, Meyers has worked Sunday nights for CBS/Westwood One for the past nine years and will continue to call NFL action while also calling Big 12 college football on FSN every Saturday night.

A St. Louis native, Meyers attended the University of Missouri. He and his wife, Carol, have two sons, Drew and J.J. They reside in Hidden Hills.

Me neither. I'm not sure if it's because I miss Chick or if he's really actually a bad announcer. I think it's more of the former, as I don't like Stu as much either anymore. I think he's lost it a little bit...dementia, etc.

I don't think he is that bad. I recall this guy from ESPN gave the Laker announcers an A- overall last year. They gave the Miami announcers a C; the worst in the league according to the article I was looking at.
