The guy showed good power and good punching in his fight, but his inexperience was obvious. I like the UFC's strategy of starting him off against a high-level opponent, forcing him to understand what it is going to take in terms of training and dedication. Hopefully this means he'll have the right mindset going forward. A win tonight wouldn't have taught him anything.

Lesnar won the fight in my eyes. He was going to kill Mir.

Mir got lucky being that Lesnar has no experience at UFC.

Can't wait till Lesnars next fight.

The thing is, Mir is awsome on his back. He had him right where he wanted him.

Yeah, but Mir took a ton of abuse in the fight. I thought Mazagatti was stopping it when he stepped in. Mir was taking some severe hammerfists.

Between him and Nog tonight, it was a display of technical masters with big hearts. Nice to see.

Also, Lesnar's spin when he went from right side control to North-South to left side control on Mir was one of the most impressive wrestling maneuvers I've seen in the UFC. Very graceful and fast for a guy his size.

Mir is a bitch. The only reason he won is because of luck.

Brock would kill him in a real fight.

I wouldnt say Mir is a bitch. That guy can roll you over and submit you in almost every way possible. Brock did give a beating, but a win is a win any way you look at it. Everyone loves the KO, but a SUBMISSION works just as well.

Brock was leaving himself open for submission everytime he was in Mir's guard. EVERYTIME.

Mir is far from a bitch. That's a ridiclious statement. Just as it was for people to say that Brock was going to get killed because he was a "fake" athlete even though he was a National Champion wrestler at Minnesota.

But Brock showed he was incredibly inexperienced in that fight.

I'd like to see a rematch down the road when Brock has more experience. His size, athleticism, and ametur skills make him a dangerous fighter.

experience won over size is the end result.

Brock will only get better from this and will probably start to concentrate on his BJJ.
The UFC will give him someone 'easier' next fight I bet.

besides he's been huge since his university days, something tells me it's hard work + a naturally broad frame.

If its all natural than cool, he should be a good fighter real soon. But something tells ME that he was on the juice in his early days in school, and just kept pumpin some serious iron and used other legal supliments along the way. Its just hard to believe someone with that kind of build got it completely off of hard work.

until then I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

There are a lot of different designer steroids available. Not everything makes you a monster.

Some steroids are designed for rapid muscle and joint regeneration, allowing you to work out more often and for longer periods of time. Some help you shed weight quickly. Some are designed for lean muscle mass, some for bulk, some for power, some for speed and agility. Obviously people like Marion Jones aren't taking the same steroids as people like Jose Canseco.

It looks like Brock is just huge. He fought at heavyweight in college. He's not like Sammy Sosa who started his MLB career at like 170 pounds and ended it at 250. Obviously Brock didn't fight at 290 pounds in college so that weight gain has to come from somewhere, but intense workouts for a dozen or fifteen years will pay dividends if you have the frame to carry the mass.

With him I think he probably took stuff to make him look more cut. His body right now looks deflated. Of course they use spray-on tans and lighting and airbrushing and stuff to make WWE guys look bigger, but to me he looks like he's the same size now as he was then, just less defined.
