Denver Broncos safety and Bay Area native Ryan Murphy was questioned by authorities during a prostitution sting that involved his brother Tuesday, according to sources familiar with the investigation. The encounter occurred in San Jose, but involved the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, not San Jose police, as had been initially reported by other local media. Murphy's brother was cited for solicitation, and Murphy himself was detained but not arrested, sources said. The pair were questioned by sheriff's deputies between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Motel 6 at First Street and Brokaw Road, a source said. The Broncos are staying in Santa Clara in prepartion for Super Bowl 50 on Sunday, when they will face the Carolina Panthers. Sheriff's spokesman Sgt. James Jensen would not comment on the citation but said the county's human-trafficking task force has been conducting several prostitution stings in the area in recent days, citing 10 men for solicitation. He added that the task force has connected more than 20 suspected female prostitutes with support resources through the county. - See more at: http://www.mercurynews.com/sports/c...ety-detained-questioned-sheriffs-prostitution
