Broncos will try to move unhappy Cutler

The Denver Broncos stopped playing games with their unhappy quarterback. Jay Cutler is available in a trade.

The team announced Tuesday night that they will start trade talks for Jay Cutler. Cutler continues to stay away from the team and refuses to respond to their calls or text messages.

"Numerous attempts to contact Jay Cutler in the past 10 days, both by head coach Josh McDaniels and myself have been unsuccessful," Broncos owner Pat Bowlen said. "A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos. We will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded."

A week ago at the NFL owners meeting, McDaniels expressed confidence the franchise could work out a resolution with Cutler and try to convince him to stay in Denver. For the past week, McDaniels has tried to reach Cutler with phone calls and text messages, but there was no response.

Cutler has been upset since it was reported that McDaniels tried to acquire Matt Cassel in a trade with the New England Patriots. Cutler has already lost a $100,000 workout bonus by missing the team's offseason program. As many as 10 teams could have interest in Cutler.
