Tim Duncan-like tonight. 25 pts, 9 Rebs, 4 Blks, 2 stls Guys this is a rookie in his first start getting 25 pts. vs Al Horford and a 6-1 Hawks team. Don't even get me started to why he was riding the bench it made no sense.
I too cannot understand why he hasn't been the starter from the beggining of the season. I will be VERY upset if he goes back to the bench once Boone is back
Lawerence Frank is afraid of rookies, sophmores, juniors, seniors. Well, Frank is afraid of anybody who hasn't already proven themselves for Byron Scott or on another team.
What a completely worthless post. "Coach doesn't like to play people who haven't proved they can play in the NBA." No shit.
Plenty of Nets bigs have gotten around these numbers but none of them did it the way Brook did it. Post up, old school paint scoring. Boone and Sean score mostly off putbacks and open dunks. Curly and Yi are jump shooters, It's been years since I've seen a Nets big post up inside and have one of these games. I'm exited about this guy.
It makes sense if you are the Spurs, or a Nets team with Kidd, Kittles, RJ, K-Mart, etc. It doesn't make sense when beyond VC and Devin you have no proven talent, unless you call Keyon Dooling proven talent, and you still choose to go with the safe vets rather than take a chance and play some younger players to see what happens. You can argue that I am wrong that we shouldn't be playing these rookies, but you can't prove I'm wrong. However, my argument against Frank is a little stronger considering we've sucked the past 2+ years playing scrub vets.
How about coach pretty much sucks at rotations, there is no way even after watching them in college knowing how better Lopez is IQ, offensively and defensively why he should be on the bench. I pointed out players regress under Frank because he has no idea how to use rotations. Here you have a big who puts 25 pts, 9 rebs, 4 blks, 2 stls ...HE WAS RIDING THE BENCH for Josh Boone ? Josh Boone ? are you serious ? who can defend that ? who really can ? I only pray Nets mgmt. wise up to this guy sometime and I hope guys like Brook Lopez and Sean Williams don't lose thier rythmn when they get benched by OPIE.
Coach frank really can't start Lopez the anti twin when boone is healthy. You really can't or shouldn't lose your starting spot because of an injury. He may delay boone comming back a bit, but when healthy boone will have to start at least one game before he can replace Lopez as the starter.
He should be coming off the bench period, this isn't charity, you look at Lopez then look at Boone if you need a basket who do you call on ? better yet a FT who do you call on ? This shouldn't even be a problem if it were me Boone comes off the bench because he is an energy guy that changes the pace not a starter who you can rely on vs good post teams.
it all may be true, but you shouldn't lose your spot cause your injured. He would have to start boone for at least one game before making the change. I'm all in favor of the change btw, but thats the proper way to do it. Otherwise your sending the wrong message. So boone's injury is delaying the inevitable
By the way, Brook Lopez needs a haircut. EDIT: Just wanted to post something more worthless than the first.
I don't really give a damn what's the proper way to do it. This is Josh Boone not David Robinson we're talking about.
I can't get too worked up about who starts. I want Brook and Ryan in the game at crunch time in the fourth Q. Boone and Yi have to start to wear down the other bigs and to get us to the fourth quarter with a chance to win. When Yi and the rookies pick up a bunch of early fouls, we lose inside scoring and board presence at the end.
