<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>TORONTO -- With Rutgers' tailback situation for next season in limbo until Ray Rice decides whether he is returning for his senior year, it seems only fitting that the solution could be a player who shares that in-between status.

True freshman Jourdan Brooks, taking this year as a redshirt, doesn't have the game experience of backups Kordell Young or Mason Robinson. And he can't match the hype that incoming freshmen backs Rashid White or Onterrio McCalebb will arrive with.

But he may be the answer if Rice leaves for the NFL a year early.

Even if Rice stays, Brooks will warrant carries. He has been that impressive in practice all season.

"Whether Ray goes or stays, that's his decision," Brooks said. "Either way, I learned a lot from him. If he stays I'll learn more from him."

But if Rice does bolt to the NFL, Brooks' unique combination of speed, size -- he's a powerfully built 6-1, 232, after arriving at school at 255 pounds -- and athleticism may give him the inside track as Rutgers' tailback of the future.</div>

We will be loaded at tailback for the next 2-3 years:
    Kordell Young
    Mason Robinson
    Jourdan Brooks
    Onterrio McCalebb
Rashad White (will be used as more of a slot receiver, IMO. May possibly move to CB because of how thin we are there)

Add to that the possibility of Ray returning and the recruitment of Theo Riddick (top back in NJ next year), and damn. If there's one position we have no problem recruiting at, it's RB. Too bad we can't do that well at CB.
