<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We've got to get something like that in Philly," Brown said wistfully, forgetting for a moment that he is part of another "we" now, coaching another team in another town where the ride has just begun. "This change has been very difficult. I was part of seeing that thing grow, and I don't think I'll ever lose that," Brown said. "It's like a piece of you." Pieces of Brown are scattered in the margins of 10 professional and college programs, but the Sixers are still with Brown like a suit he can't remove. It went well in Philadelphia, but for various reasons it ended badly, with a decided animosity on the part of a city that doesn't like to be rejected. "I loved that place so much, and that's why I left," Brown said, explaining once again. "I don't think people understand that, and I don't think they ever will. If you can go in the locker room and look at all those faces and know you've treated them the right way, you'll never leave. "But I didn't treat those guys the right way, and from that perspective I let things go too far. I blame myself. I don't blame Allen [Iverson] or anybody else. When I treat guys the wrong way because I'm angry at some other issue, that's no good. That's basically why I left."</div> Bob Ford The Phildelphia Inquirer Full Article All of that is nice and all, but whatever happened with the harsh words directed towards Philadelphia? Even though he denied it, every Sixer fan should know it was directed at us and the team.
Honestly I thought he was directing it to the Pacers and mainly Jalen Rose.Although I can see why Sixers fans would think otherwise.
That was the team he coached for quite a few seasons before going to Philly. He had problem with Rose's attuide if I remember right.
Yeah, but Rose was no longer with them. Artest was, but I guess he proved him wrong with his mature play this season.
No he was talking about past players. He didn't say they were still there I don't think. It was just the basic attuide of the team he had a problem with.People will have different views on who he meant.Fact is we will never know.
True. There are two sides to it, the Sixers side, who think it was directed towards them and the Pacers side, who feel the same way.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting starman85:</div><div class="quote_post">I, as a Clippers fan, feel that the comments were directed towards me personally.</div> ...yea sure. This was great. I could just laugh about Larry's feelings losing to the short-handed 76ers. Aaron Mckie and Eric destroyed Detroit last night. Great game to all who stepped up to fill AI and the injured players spots.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">Look who got the last laugh : Randy Ayers. Not just once. But twice. Muah.</div> I'm sure Brown isn't worried that he lost two games to his old assistant in the regular season.
still. the games were big games. the first one in which john salmons hit a HUGE shot and the second in which they played without their 2 big scorers. i'm sure larry was impressed by randy's coaching.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm sure Brown isn't worried that he lost two games to his old assistant in the regular season. </div> Dont worry man, we'll take care of em in the playoffs

Actually no you weren't.As for Larry been impressed by Randy Ayers's coaching? no doubt. They are very close and want the best for each other.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting allnet:</div><div class="quote_post">Like you were suppose to last season? </div> Nope. Detroit was a way better team last year. I dont think they will have the season they did last year this year.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Answer:</div><div class="quote_post">Nope. Detroit was a way better team last year. I dont think they will have the season they did last year this year.</div> The Pistons team of this season is better than last years.Thats a fact.Plus there are two improving 2nd year players in Prince and Okur.Pistons are still a top 3 east team.NJ have started off slow but they will be right up there when it counts again this season. The season is a long one not a two month season which decides who are better.March time is when you get a real look who will finish where.
Exactly, the Pistons are loaded for years to come with talented players like Okur, Prince, and Milicic.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Sasha:</div><div class="quote_post">Exactly, the Pistons are loaded for years to come with talented players like Okur, Prince, and Milicic.</div> that's if brown ever PLAYS okur.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">that's if brown ever PLAYS okur.</div> Okur plays over 24/25 minutes a game because of the deep roster.Brown feels he is better off the bench to give the team a spark. He can't play Campbell late in games as he gets tired easily. He has to share out the minutes he feels are best for the team.I hear all this rubbish about Brown not playing the young guys but before he came to Detroit what players deserved court time?
Thank you, every Sixer fan says the oppposite thing, how he hates rookie and stuff. It is just not true. Every time Okur and/or Prince step in, there is a spark brought in, the Pistons go on a big run. Kind of like Bobby Jackson does for the Kings, Okur/Prince do for the Pistons.
