Boston Bruins defenseman Adam McQuaid's left eye is swollen shut from an injury he suffered Thursday night and he will not travel with the team to New York for its games against the Islanders on Saturday and the Rangers on Sunday. McQuaid got a cut over his eye after going face-first into the end boards behind the Boston net, the result of a hit by Washington Capitals forward Jason Chimera.
