"Is it really such a bad thing that people are, to use the much-discussed phrase, jumping on the Bruins bandwagon? The way some folks spit out the words, you'd think these bandwagon jumpers were sneaking into the Bruins equipment room and making off with the players' skates. It's true that the Bruins have become enormously popular over the past month, vaulting from No. 6 in the local sports consciousness (behind the Red Sox, Patriots, Celtics, Revolution and our local pro lacrosse outfit, the Boston Blazers) to No. 1 with a bullet. And for good reason: Not only have the Bruins discovered the joys of victory, but their play has been exciting, gutty, dramatic and in some cases historic. During a late-season matinee against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Bruins dazzled and wowed the Garden masses by scoring three shorthanded goals on the same penalty, setting an NHL record. This was the same game in which an errant pass on a delayed penalty slid down the ice and came perilously close to winding up in the vacated Bruins net, except that an alert and hustling Patrice Bergeron raced in to make the save." http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/hockey/bruins/view/20100509bruins_bandwagon_welcomes_you_aboard/
