Brunell's agent is saying Mark would not want to sign with a club that plans to draft a 1st round QB this season. I am a Brunell fan, and I think he would be a good fit with the Dolphins, but I'm not sure I could pass if one of the projected elite passers is sitting there when Miami is on the clock. What does everyone else think about this?

I am a big Brunnell fan as well and would love to see him play for Miami while Rivers is being groomed to be the QB of the future.

I can understand Brunnell's hesitancy in possibly losing his job to a rookie again. Though, I think most of the noise is from his agent.

Provided he's there, Miami is absolutely nuts if they don't draft Rivers.

Brunell would be a great fit in Miami as would Brad Johnson. I think Miami is a good Quarterback away from being a deep playoff contender. Fiedler is a decent Quarterback, but he just won't get the job done in Miami. Yes, Miami needs to draft a Quarterback, but they need a good veteran to boost the team now.

I read today that the Redskins are close to trading for Brunell, but if that happens, what will they do with Ramsey?? I would be thrilled if the Dolphins could aquire Ramsey, hes a young QB ready to lead a team now!!

Yeah i read the same on brunell to washington.
This move makes no sense at all. Why would
skins want brunell when they have patrick ramsey?
The kid looked great for a team that hardly stayed
dedicated to the run game with spurrier.

Miami fits more for brunell, besides he doesnt have
to leave the state of floirda.

From what ive read, Brunell doesnt want to compete for a starting job, and Ramsey has been assured the chance to compete so I think Brunell will balk at the trade to the Redskins....or the Redskins will give Brunell the job and Ramsey will want out, either way, I think one of those 2 QB's is a Miami Dolphin by April 1st.....the Washington Post reported that the Dolphins offered the Redskins thier 1st round pick for Ramsey and if the Redskins acquire Brunell, it would be in thier best interest to get what they can for Ramsey, Gibbs could build the team a lot faster with a pair of 1st round picks....of course, Im all for the Dolphins getting Ramsey, hes a tough S.O.B. with a gun slinger arm, I know his teammates hold him in high reguard and hes a natural leader, hes ready to lead a playoff team already, and Id be thrilled if he came to Miami....

Miami should end up with one of these guys. Any of them would be an upgrade to Fiedler as well. Ramsey is not much of a scrambler, but neither was Marino and Ramsey has an accurate rocket arm. Should be interesting to say the least.

My preference on which QB Miami acquires this offseason.

    1) P. Rivers
    2) Ramsey
    3) AJ Feeley from the Eagles
    4) Brad Johnson if let go by Tampa
    5) Brunnell
    6) Gannon if let go by Oakland

BF1; I would love to see either Eli or Rothliesberger play for Miami next year but I don't see it taking place.

Unless, Some team drafting in the top 10 signs Ogunleye after he's been "tendered" then a trade w/ San Diego could be worked out.

Its possible that Raiders could go after Ogunleye, Norv Turner is thier new coach, so he knows that Big O could do and the Raiders could use a DE, but Im sure a trade would have to be worked out, becuase the Raiders arent gonna give up the #2 pick in the draft for Ogunleye....perhaps the arrangement would be the #2 pick for Ogunleye and the 20th pick of the 1st round....

Ive read that a lot of teams veiw Ogunleye as a rising star and the competetion will be fierce, leaving the Dolphins with little chance to resign him, CBS Sportsline listed him as the #1 restricted free agent and mentioned that a few teams are preparing a run at him because they know the Dolphins arent in a position to match thier offers....if the Dolphins can sign him to a long term deal, I would be thrilled, if they get the tender compensation(1st and 3rd), I would be thrilled, the only scenario I would not want is for him to sign the one year tender and play out the year, making him an unrestricted free agent next year, and forcing Miami to tag him or lose him....of course it could work out really good, he could come back and post 20 sacks while leading the Dolphins to a Super Bowl, and then at the age of 27, he would command the 2 1st round pick compensation package...

he is a four year pro with 25 sacks, so he has had one good season, i am just not totally sold that he so sure fire, like if i was going to sign jason taylor. he should be very productive, but he might be one of those guys like dana stubblefield who quits once he gets the big money

Actually, Ogunleye was very good the season before as well. (I think he had 9 sacks.) I don't want to see him go, but if he does, I hope the Dolphins use the compensation wisely.

I just hope that Spielman uses sound judgement and does the right thing. My only problem is that Dolphins Mgmt has a nasty habit of accepting a conditional sixth rounder for whoever and being satisfied
    with that.

I still say that Atlanta will make a push. There is a need & Blank seems to have deep pockets. I don't think the Falcons will surrender the 7th or 8th pick overall and a 3rd rounder.

Atl needs a CB so maybe if Fletcher is included Miami will be able to start accumulating draft picks.
