Homer Drew is retiring and his son Bryce Drew is succeeding him at Valparaiso, the school announced Tuesday. Bryce Drew is a former NBA player and was associate head coach under his father prior to being promoted. Drew is best remembered for his winning 3-point basket that lifted No. 13 seed Valpo to an improbable upset over fourth-seeded Mississippi in the first round of the 1998 NCAA tournament. Bryce Drew will be coaching on a home floor named for his father -- Homer Drew Court. Drew's brother, Scott, the coach at Baylor, said his brother is prepared for the challenge. "Bryce is ready," Scott Drew told ESPN.com's Andy Katz. "My dad made sure he's ready." Scott Drew said Homer Drew is in good health, but wanted to make a change in his life.
