That's ok. No worries. We'll see what you say when the Eagles finish with a better record than the Bucs this year. [IMG]

The Eagles have an injured Donovan McNabb now. That's it.

The Bucs have Cadillac, Simms, Galloway, Clayton, Boston, and a sick defense.

McNabb is healthy. Eagles have standout sophmore in Reggie Brown. We run a west coast offense so it is better to spread the ball around instead of throwing it to one person, ala Terrell Owens. At running back we got Brian Westbrook, we have arguably the best offensive line in the NFL, and we got Darren Howard, who is a tremendous defensive end to pair up with Jevon Kearse. We drafted Bunkley in the 1st round, and he will get major push for the line and pressure the QB. We also have Mike Patterson, who did pretty well last season. Trent Cole had a terrific year, and will get even better backing up Howard. We also have Brian Dawkins, Sheldon Brown, and Lito Sheppard on the secondary.

oh my goodness... i nearly started crying when i saw this thread.

Im likin the team this year. I think simms is poised to have a huge season. i like the addition of toniu fonoti or however you spell it and i like the 2 OL (joseph and trueblood) we drafted. i think the teams depth is better than it was in 2002. lots of young talent on offense and an experienced defense that is ranked #1.

Do you guys think Michael Clayton will be back to his normal self? He went into a little slump last season.

i was reading a lot of articles on that, and writers are saying that he looks like he is playing a lot hungrier and he is healthy now. he had early injury problems last year and they lingered. there is a lot of competition in the wide receiver corps this year as well. if he doesnt perform he has boston and hilliard chomping at the bit for the #2 spot. i think that he will have a 900 yard season with around 6 TDs. i hope he has a 1300 yard season with 10 TDs.

    I agree completely.

Cadillac Williams is going to be the man and we will probably run him to death again this season but Clayton is capable of being a great wide reciever. He showed signs of greatness in his rookie season and if he can get out of his slump and play like he used to, our offense is going to be scary this season. Also, when Simms was in the game, it seemed like him and Clayton really had something good going. With Galloway taking some pressure off of Clayton and drawing the opposing team's best cornerback, I expect Clayton to return back to his normal self this season. Our future is very bright and I can't wait for this season to start.

Hell yeah man. I heard Caddy might not play just to be safe? Not sure if that's true though.

Can you watch the game too?

unfortunately i can't bro... i live in killa cali where they NEVER televise the east coast teams, unless its a popular team like the eagles on sunday mornings.... i have digital cable and where i live and they dont allow satellites...

im lucky enough to get the NBA package to watch the magic, but i have no hopes of watching too many bucs games. hopefully i'll move somewhere soon where they allow directv, until then... i'm depending on you swish. [IMG]

i gotta find me a bar around here that is just for bucs fans... (fat chance)[IMG]

Our first string offense only played one series and Cadillac Williams didn't play at all. Pittman fumbled twice in the little amount of time he was in. Our offense was a little bit sloppy in the start and we had a few penalties but that's expected since the players haven't taken the field in awhile. When Simms was in they were playing conservative and were just running the ball with Pittman (and once with Alstott) and dumping off short passes. Gradcowski (the rookie quarterback) played really well and threw for two touchdowns. One was to Maurice Stovall (rookie WR) and then another Paris Warren (second year WR). Earnest Graham (someone I've always liked) played for awhile and he did good.

Now for our defense. We had a tough time getting pressure on Pennington but that's because for most of the time he was in, our second unti defense was out there. Kalvin Pearson made a great play when he blitzed and forced a fumble from Chad Pennington early in the second quarter. Second year LB Barret Ruud recovered. Then, Dewayne White forced a fumble by knocking the ball out of Pennington's hand from behind (similar to what Simeon Rice doesa a lot). The Jets recovered but it was still a great play. Our team looked good and we were clicking for the most part. It's the first preseason game so of course there is room for improvement but I was impressed from what I saw.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">In a battle primarily of young players, rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski stood out in a 16-3 Bucs win, providing a boost for him and the team as the preseason opened in impressive fashion

With the kings, queens and knights off the table in a hurry on Friday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ preseason opener against the New York Jets turned into a battle of the “rooks.”

    As in rookies.

Tampa Bay’s 16-3 victory was fought largely between young roster hopefuls from both sidelines, with the starting lineups making only brief cameos. Buccaneers rookie QB Bruce Gradkowski proved to be the difference, directing an impressive 80-yard touchdown drive to open the third quarter and break a 3-3 halftime tie.

It was Gradkowski’s first live action as a professional, and he completed four of five passes for 36 yards on the drive, including an 11-yard touchdown strike to second-year WR Paris Warren. Remarkably, he took his next possession another 80 yards for a second touchdown, finishing that march with a two-yard TD pass to fellow ’06 draftee WR Maurice Stovall.

Of course, as impressive as Gradkowski was in his debut – he completed 11 of 13 passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns for a passer rating of 139.6 – his best-case scenario for the start of the season is probably as the second-string quarterback. It might be more notable in the long run, then, that the Buccaneers started the game with first-round pick Davin Joseph and second-round pick Jeremy Trueblood next to each other on the offensive line, at right guard and right tackle, respectively. Trueblood replaced the injured Kenyatta Walker but Joseph’s start was simply a coach’s decision. The pair impressed in their first action.

"Hou an you not be [impressed]?" said Gruden. "They came off the ball. We had six or seven successive runs for positive yards."</div>

So I'm guessing that either the reporter can't type or Jon Gruden did his interview with 12 marshmellows in his mouth.
