<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">It was brought to your attention in this space several weeks ago that the Milwaukee Bucks could undergo a series of radical changes after the season. Here's an update: The scuttlebutt among Bucks and NBA insiders is the Bucks are now seriously looking to change coaches, head and assistant alike. While Terry Porter still has one more year remaining on his contract, it is believed he'll be relieved of his duties with a more experienced replacement likely to be brought in. Asked about Porter's status before a Bucks' game last week, owner Herb Kohl said, "Talk to Larry.'' Kohl then walked away. Harris is the Bucks general manager and the person who, at least theoretically, will determine whether Porter stays or goes. Harris, queried about Porter's status with the organization for next year, said nothing had "been discussed internally'' by the Bucks' hierarchy. But the Bucks brass will convene after the season, and all indicators point to Porter being ousted. He might not be the only one, though. There's a possibility, one that is gaining more and more legitimacy, that there will be a transfer in the ownership of the team. Kohl came within a whisker of selling the team to a Michael Jordan-led group two summers ago, and now I'm hearing Kohl is more than casually exploring the idea of selling the team again. This time, however, Kohl could remain with the Bucks as a minority owner. Obviously, Bucks fans will have more to look forward to than just the Draft Lottery. What's going on at UWM? So UWM officials have enlisted the services of ChampSearch to assist them in hiring a new men's basketball coach. Why? From my perspective, UWM athletic director Bud Haidet needs about as much help picking a new coach as we need another cold front. Haidet's track record for picking coaches is impeccable. It was Haidet who chose Bo Ryan for the UWM job several years ago. Ryan instantly transformed UWM into a reputable program. After Ryan left to take the Wisconsin job, Haidet hired Pearl. Pearl proved to be an equally-stellar hire as evidenced by the Panthers' recent and unprecedented appearance in the Sweet 16. </div> Source
