<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Veteran center Jake Voskuhl has reached agreement with the Milwaukee Bucks on a one-year, $3 million contract, ESPN.com has learned. This just shows the Yi is gone. To me it is over for him with the Bucks, even though it never started.
Why are the Bucks shelling out $3 million to a guy who won't even crack the rotation next season? They've already got two other legitimate centers. What about Yi Jianlian? If he's not going to play for Milwaukee, who's coming off the bench for Villanueva at the four? What about the three spot? All they really have there is Bobby Simmons, who is coming off from a pretty serious injury. I see that Bell just resigned, but he's a real stretch at the three. He was a combo guard his entire career up until this season and is probably better suited in a role where he runs the point when Mo Williams is sitting on the bench. So I guess this is their projected depth chart as of now? PG - Mo Williams/Lynn Greer/Ramon Sessions SG - Michael Redd/Charlie Bell SF - Bobby Simmons/David Noel PF - Charlie Villanueva/(Yi Jianlian?)/Damir Markota C - Andrew Bogut/Dan Gadzuric/Jake Voskuhl That's solid, but they could have done a lot better with the pieces they had to play around with this offseason. It's essentially the same lineup as last season, except instead of Earl Boykins and Brian Skinner you've got Jake Voskuhl and a post-injury Bobby Simmons. Is that really better?

I still don't think this signing makes much sense, though.

I've been a bit out of the loop with free agent signings, but the last I read, it was just "on the verge" of happening. If they did sign Mason, I guess this signing makes more sense, but I'd still go for a player more capable of playing forward incase Jianlian doesn't come over.
