Andrew Bogut is either 7'1" or Charlie Villanueva is shorter then his listed 6'11". Bogut's a lot bigger than Villanueva.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Wasn't sure if I should post this separate of add it to another post. Here are some interview answers posted by upnorthfan on the jsonline.com boards. I don't read over there very often, but he states he was at the Media Day and talked to a number of players: Quote: I made my annual trek down to the Cousins today, and thought I would share with you all some portions of my interview's, so here ya go. Drew Bogut : UNF: Drew, you seemed to be unselfish almost to a fault last year. I mean I watched about 65 of your games last year, and it seemed when you were down low posting up, and would try to take it to the hole, often times at the last minute you dish off to a unsuspecting team mate. Drew: Yes, I was trying to make my team mates happy, and in doing so it took me out of my game a little. UNF: Are you strictly a 5 this year? Drew: No. It depends on match ups. The media made more out of it than I did. I prefer center, but now that I have experience at the 4, I can see me playing there if myself and Brian Skinner are on the court at the same time. UNF: Were you able to work on your individual skills this off season? Drew: Not really. I did work on my FT's, and my defense, but I was always playing games or in a camp of some sort. I also took two weeks off to vacation. Next off season I will have time to put in to my individual workouts. UNF: It seemed to me you hit the famed "rookie wall" late in the season. Do you think you did? Drew: Possibly, although I think it was more about me learning that team mates complain about minutes and plays ran for them. Not that anyone did, but it was a learning experience none the less. UNF: What did you learn about playoff basketball? Drew: The intensity level picks up not only with the players, but the crowds as well. You have to bring it for 48 minutes every game. UNF: You have unbelievable quick feet for a big. Are you going to continue trying to draw charges? You drew 65 last year. Drew: Yes, that is the way I play. Anything to get my team the ball I am going to do. I am also going to block more shots this year, hopefully average 1.5 to 2 blocks a game. UNF: Can you assess your first year in the league? Drew: I didn't play well. I learned allot. The officials sure are biased too. D Wade is a great player don't get me wrong, but he was given foul shots and wasn't even touched. FIBA is not like that. A foul is a foul no matter what your name is. UNF: Thanks Drew you ---ker. If you keep your head on straight and continue to work hard, you could leave the game one of the top 10 centers of all time. Drew: Gee thanks, I will definitely continue to work hard. Note: I spent about 20 minutes with Drew. He is such a great kid, and as everyone knows, my favorite player in the league. He doesn't even realize how good he can be. All he does is work his ass off and plays hard. --------------------- Charlie V: UNF: Welcome to Milwaukee. What do you like to be called? CV: TY. Charlie is fine. UNF: How do you like the city of Milwaukee? CV: Love it! Especially the restaurants. UNF: How do you like your new teammates? CV: I really look forward to playing alongside Bogut. We are both unselfish, and should cause opponents fits. As a team we have a lot of depth. UNF: What did you do to work on your game this summer? CV: Myself and Ben Gordon worked out all summer together in New York. I worked on my shot and my ball handling skills. UNF: You don't look 6'11". How tall all you in bare feet? CV: 6'10" UNF: Thanks Charlie ------------------- Coach Stott?s UNF: Hey Coach, do you have a starting five etched in stone, or are there positions open for debate? Coach: Training camp will answer those types of questions. UNF: Right now though are Bobby and Mo the starters as opposed to Patterson and Blake? Coach: Bobby is because he was here last year. Same with Mo, although Blake will push Mo for minutes. UNF: Thanks Coach. Coach: You bet. ------------------------ Larry Harris: UNF: Hey Larry, is your roster set for this season, or are you still tweaking? LH: Barring any unforeseen injuries, the roster is pretty much set. UNF: I love the versatility of the roster as well as its depth. This team offers all kinds of match ups problems for the opposition. LH: You are right on, and Steve Blake will surprise people. UNF: Not me. I think he should start ahead of MO. LH. You're very astute. Steve Blake is an under the radar PG. Together with Mo and Charlie, I feel good about that position. UNF: Does Ha have a roster spot or is he just camp fodder? LH: He will be on the 15 man roster. He is a great kid. UNF: Will Noel and/or Markota go to the developmental league? LH: Not at this time. I want them to be around the team. See the life on the road of an NBA player, the practices, the schedule, ECT. UNF: So Markota, Noel and Ha will all be on the 15 man roster? LH: Yes. UNF: Cool, thanks Larry. ------------------------ Overall: Physically, Bobby and Skinner look fantastic! Everyone seems to realize they are a team that needs chemistry. Steve Blake was very serious when I talked to him. Seems like he has grown-up since his college days as one might expect. Questions post them here. Here are a few other comments made about individual players by him: Quote: Ersan Ilyasova: Last year he said he was strictly a 3, this year he says he is strictly a 4. Laryy Harris comfirmed that. Ersan said he is 100% healthy, and LH said he should get some minutes in the rotation. His English is soooooooooo much better than last year. Last year he needed an interpreter, this year he was almost fluent. That right there will help his game. Quote: lol. Ruben Patterson, when I asked him what position he likes to play, he said all of'em. He said he can shut A.I., Marbury, Prince, heck he said he would gaurd Shaq and shut him down too. Drew said Patterson will knock your head off. BTW, most of the guys have been in town for about a week practicing informally. Quote: This was another question he responded too: Did Blake sound like he's willingly a part of the Bucks? ---------------- Absolutely. He is very happy to be coming to a team that made the playoffs, and to be teamed with the likes of CV, Drew and especially Redd. Quote: Yes I talked to Noel. I asked him what he did this summer to get ready for the season, he said he has been working on his NBA three point range and ball handling skills. I said David, you can no longer be doing those backwrd flips before you dunk, we don't need you getting hurt. He said he won't with a smile, "at least not in a game or warmups". When I compared him to a young Bruce Bowen, he busted out laughing. Then when I said "but BB is a lock down defender, and coming out of college that is your forte as well". He then admitted that yes, his game right now is that of a shut down defender, and he has been working on his footwork as well. He has an excellent body for a three. Great kid. Quote: CV looked soft in the arms to me. Not as big as I thought, looks three inches shorter than Bogut. I am still very excited about him, but it looks like he will have to get stronger.</div> Cannot wait for the start of the season... :winkglasses:
Something is different about Cvill this year, its like his head is smaller or he got real skinny or something he just doesn't look the same.
brewcity, thanks for sharing my interviews on this site. I have been limited in time and haven't been able to log on here as well. Yes I was at media day, and if you or anyone else has any questions I will try to answer them. I talked to just about everyone except Redd, Bobby and Charlie Bell.

I think the Bucks have put together a flexible and balanced roster, two deep and then some at every position. The only question really as far as who is starting could possibly be Blake or Mo, with Mo at the moment having the advantage. That would/could pitt Patterson, Bell and Blake as the smalls off the bench, teammed with a combination of Bogut and CV. Skinner I would guess is the First big off the bench. Or they will go Gadz and Skinner playing together, thus keeping the starting 4/5 (CV and Drew) always paired together.Bogut mentioned "we could see him and Skinner together, and He (Bogut) would go back to the 4. Bogut himself said that to me!" So they could mix and match their four bigs, also remembering Harris had said earlier Ersan could see about ten minutes of playing time.At Media day Ersan and LH both said he is a 4.So starting off, like last year it looks like possibly an 11 man rotation. Coach Stotts last year when health permitted, he had an 11 man rotation, then he parred it to ten by sitting Jiri, then, it was just going to get parred to 9, meaning TK or Gadz was next, and it waslooking like Gadz. However BOOM! Injury hit again, so it ended the whole thing and J Jackson was in, and the juggling act really stated. Terry did I think a better job than we have given himcredit for.So on that note, let's all get behind not only the Bucks, but more specifically let's get behind Terry Stotts. This is an important year for him. If it ends up like the Brewers, he will not be as fortunate as as Ned Yost.He has been given the talent, enough to at least be a playoff team. Allot of guys are in contract years, so there are selfish motivation's as well.Redd need's to cotinue to prove he is worth his money, and Bogut plays so hard all the time, he is just motivated just because he is motivated. So Stotts has not only the talent, but talent that is also motivated. This should be a fun year. I'll give my prediction on won and losses just prior to the start of the season.
