What is the word coming out of the Tampa camp regarding the first round? What are they leaning towards?

I've been hearing some DT and S talk to replace the recently departed, but now I am hearing they still might be in the market for a RB -- even though Garner is on the roster -- since he is older and Gruden likes his rotation.

I can't imagine they could pass up a Wilfork, a Starks, or a Taylor if they fell to them. Any thoughts from the Buc faithful?

    Cowboy,

Word around here is wilfolk or vilma. We like to have
both but wilfolk who they called baby sapp is a great
fit for our team with a major hole to fill.

Rumor is also tampa may role the dice on troubled
but once talented darrell russell. If thats the case i
think we difintley go vilma. You can never have enough
linebackers especially with our defense that depends
on them so much. quarles, brooks and possibly vilma
would be a nice core of linebackers.

i think both those players are good, but i am not sure that vilma is a first round pick, he lacks the measureables size and speed. he would be better as an early 2nd round pick. wilfork is like sapp, he does not play run well but is very good vs pass.

    Bearsfan,

some of the scouts and mocks are saying that
vilma is widely compared to derrick brooks.
However we may also go the other miami linebacker
as well. One way or another we should get a
player who will help us on the d.

i have seen vilma play about 20 times, he is very good i just dont knwo that at his size and speed he will ever make enough plays. he is not like derrick brooks, he play middle backer for one thing and is actually taller but slower. a very smart player. I am a HUGE UM fan and there is no bias against this player

Bearsfan, do you read mock drafts at all?
Im curious cause even the writers from some
of the best mock drafts have all said vilma is
in comparisons to brooks as in the way he looks
on the field. Yes he plays middle linebacker in the
nfl players move to other postions. Kinda like
urlacher did in chicago. Or quarles from weakside to
middle linebacker for us. Terrell suggs moved from
de to linebacker. Vilma at the 15 is steal and he is
fast i dont know what games you were watching.

The draft has many linebackers why is it vilma is
probably the first or second one taken in the first
if he is small, slow like you say he is.

Did you go to any canes games down here and actually
watch him up close? Im curious cause i have an eye
for linebacker depth and let me tell ya only one
linebacker from the canes is quicker and bigger then
vilma and he is another possibilty we take in rd 1.

Botton line is you may like the hurricanes but i question
what games you watched cause your opinons on vilma
are off. Course you claim galloway is all done and isnt
very quick when the bottom line is he has shitty qbs in
dallas and he was never used to his strengths kinda like
    david terrell in chicago.

So Tampa picks LSU's Clayton to replace Keyshawn. What do Bucs fans think? Would you have rather picked defense?

Tampa picking Clayton is a terrible pick! I know
alot of tampa fans are shocked on this move by
gruden. This clearley is a gruden move. How can
you pass up Udeze, wilfolk,dj williams, or will smith
taking a wr who may not even start, what a waste.

Someone said it best that gruden is clearly going
offense , the same offense that was beat in the
superbowl by a great defense. I can see our direction
im just wondering how long this last.
