"The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost backup running back Kareem Huggins for the rest of the season, Coach Raheem Morris said.

Huggins, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the third quarter of Sunday's 31-6 loss to New Orleans, was lost just as he was scheduled to take on a greater share of the rushing load from starter Cadillac Williams.

Williams is averaging 2.5 yards per carry for an offense that is gaining just 3.6 yards per carry and 91.2 yards per game, 27th overall in the league.

At a time when the Bucs' offense is struggling to move the ball because it can't find success running, the team must find another option to assume the carries Huggins would have gotten. That may not be easy.

Bucs offensive coordinator Greg Olson said today that one of the reasons Williams continues to serve as the team's lead back is because no other back has stepped up and proven to be better than Williams."
