Just spent the last four days building a new wood "good neighbor" fence. My fence was about 12 years old and some of the posts ended up rotting out.

Digging the post holes out is such a bitch.

Always a good feeling when you accomplish home repair though.

Even a desk bitch (me) can build a fence apparently.

    I built one.

    Two days.

One for tear down and dropping new posts.

The other for crossbeams and fence boards.

That was after we had 20 25-year old arborvitaes removed that hadn't been groomed in 12+years (20-feet tall and lateral 5-7 feet from the stump). Killed the neighbors' fence (the fence was allegedly 30+ years old).

Our 80-year old Cape Cod never looked so good. Fresh cedar fences for all!

Nicely done! Definitely makes me appreciate my day job more.

Staining the boards before putting them up took a long ass time.

I feel like an old man because my entire body aches. Ill probably just hire someone 10-15 years down the line.

One more thing I don't miss is rotten fences and out of control bushes and grass. The fence at the house we sold in 2005 had minutes to live.

I built one. It was a big beautiful fence, the best fence. Put it up so fast it would make your head spin. Made my neighbor pay for it.

Sounds to me like this board can be very helpful in securing the southern border if Trump wins.

That's what I said about building the next one. Until I built it with an early-50's neighbor dude. He shamed me. So I'll wait til he dies.

Yeah, lol it happens. Old fellas are great at labor. Knowledgeable. Get them on a computer though......

Thats why when we are even older, labor workers will charge us so much.

I found in the past renting a two man post hole auger makes quick work and really speeds up the process....I need to rebuild a section of mine that's seen better days..

Made things much easier for a section of mine. Unfortunately, the other section had a neighbor's patio up against it and the only way to use the auger would have been to give up part of my yard (hell no). So we had to dig 8 holes by shovel and hand.

The very best part of building a fence is how wonderful an ice cold can of cheap swill tastes after you've been busting ass for a few hours. A really good fence takes at least a half rack per worker per day.......

One should never allow bushes to get anywhere near a white house
