Durham Bulls extend series Bulls win over Scranton, 3-2. I watched the game on milb tv on the internet and the game was very clear on the screen. Jeff Niemann for the Durham Bulls was very impressive. He dominated the Scranton Yankees in 6.2 innings with a wicked breaking ball and never lost his cool. The Durham Bulls played great defense behind Niemann as well. On the Scranton side, I like the fact that Igawa decided to ride the bus for 7 hours with his team. That to me shows he’s a team player. I can’t remember how many times the announcer said, another 1, 2, 3 inning for Igawa but it was a lot until the 6th inning when it looked like the Bulls would score off Igawa but Igawa did a great job and got out of the inning. It was the type of performance I expected from Igawa since he was named the Scranton pitcher of the year. I felt the Scranton manager left in Igawa one batter too many in the 7th inning but David Robertson did an unbelievable job getting out of the inning without letting in a run. I could tell Igawa was losing it and he didn’t have it anymore. I didn’t like the fact that Igawa was pitching against the blue monster and that he will be judged by a throwing error(that he made) that let in a run. Igawa let in 2 runs, 1 earned for the no decision. In the second inning, Justin Christian stole 2nd and 3rd base and I thought it was awesome because it led to an easy run for Scranton. Christian is a great weapon to have for the Yankees. The game came down to one inning however when the game was tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 9th when Oneli Perez let a run in to lose the game. I didn’t like the body language Scranton showed in the top of the 9th when they went down 1,2,3. It just didn’t seem right. Justin Christian had a great game going 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a walk and 3 stolen bases. You can’t ask for anything more from your lead off hitter. Scranton will try to close it out tomorrow night. Triple A * Scranton/WB Recap - Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees official * Scranton/WB Box Score - Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees official
