Gill, a native of Olympia Fields who attended Rich Central High School, watched Jalen Rose's charity all-star game on Sunday and then visited the Berto Center on Monday to meet with general manager John Paxson. He could sign as early as Tuesday. At 6 feet 5 inches and 215 pounds, Gill, 35, is a decent defender with long arms who can provide scoring off the bench. He also is the type of veteran presence that Paxson is seeking to command respect in the locker room, even if he plays a limited reserve role. If Gill signs, the Bulls would have 16 players under contract, although Jay Williams is out for the season. That means Paxson still could make another personnel move this summer to lose a contract. </div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...bulls-headlines</div> i hope Paxson can pull this off, along with a 2-1 or 3-2 type deal. that would be the only way they can sign Gill without waiving someone. they have 15 people on the roster already.
Gill would be a good signing. I remember he tried to fight Carter lol. He is a pest to other teams stars.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting slamduncan21:</div><div class="quote_post">Lets waive Dalibor </div> i wouldn't mind waiving Bagaric, but he has value. not alot of value but he does have some value. He's not afraid to hack the opposing Centers. and he's tall, alot of teams lack Centers. sure he nowhere near a star caliber type center. but he can fill needs on another team. they Bulls should trade him and Erob for someone, or trade him for a draft pick.

Second, Dalibor wont net you a draft pick. Third, Dalibor just turned 23. He is still young. He could develop into a backup center. He's a young kid still. He was raw when he was drafted, and still is. I am not saying Dalibor will be a great player, but he could still develop into something resembling a solid backup center. This will be his 4th season, meaning he was all of 19 when he was drafted. Id stash him on IR. Let him continue to practice, give him some solid chances(game time) every once in awhile. 4th- Regarding Gill. Lets sign him. Last year we were too young to be competitive on the road. This year, we have added Pippen, and hopefully Gill to the mix. Meaning as the games get tighter down the stretch, we could see a veteran lineup of Rose/Gill/Pippen/Marshall/Curry(the exception to the veteran lineup). What that gives us is guys who know how to win close games. Guys that can finish out a game. Guys that aren't hesitant in the waning moments. This will have an impact on our young guys like Crawford, Hinrich, Curry, and Chandler. They will be sorrounded by veterans who can calm them down and run the team, allowing the younger players to be less burdened by the pressure. Whats more likely to happen is we sign Gill and cut Hassell. Hassell has been given 2 years. He was good as a rookie, getting noted for his defense. But that regressed last year. Mason Jr is more valuable to the team, bec. he can backup the PG spot also, and is a better shooter. There's no reason to have 2 players in similar molds(RMJ, TH). Thats whats most likely to happen. Slamduncan..........I can't wait for the season to start. It looks like we finally have what it takes to close out the close games, and win on the road, which could lead us to the playoff spot.....I am excited! What are your thoughts on the upcoming season?
Playoffs Eddy will dominate. I think he'll eventually be the closest thing to Shaq playing the center position. Tyson showed that he can rebound and I'm hoping he can be a double double kind of guy. The Bulls had so many close road games that they could have won. I think the developement of the younger guys and the addition of Pippen will put them over the edge and those road games will turn into wins. I keep forgetting about Johnny Bach coming back.. with the addition of him to the coaching staff, our defense will turn into something that looks at least a little like the doberman defense we used to have.
