Good stuff. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sport...mes-bulls-free-agency-20140617,0,62067.column Longstanding NBA truth: Nobody good ever comes to the Bulls and nobody knows why, but if you think the Bulls landed a good player, then he turns out to be Carlos Boozer. (Nobody knows why? LOL) ... The Bulls apparently want to try a different profile because being gutty and relentless has led to nothing but relentless disappointment and the realization that talent wins and they don’t have enough, not even close, stop it right now. ... James is the prize. The rest are lovely parting gifts. But here’s the worst part: Acquiring Love or Anthony still wouldn’t guarantee that the Bulls win anything, but not getting either, or anybody better, would guarantee another lost decade.
Also from the article: Somehow true. If they will have a little chance they must try. Even if they lost out other players because of this try. .... And James isn't coming to Chicago.
Rosenbloom reminds me of somebody, but I can't put my finger on who. He's not on my must read list and when he's subbing on the radio, I tune him out. This said, being the snarky cheap-shot artist is an easy gig. At any given time, you're sure to have several local teams who are at least somewhat vulnerable to your oh so clever jibes. If one of those teams turn out to be good, no problem...you just change targets. In a couple weeks, we'll have a better idea of whether the Bulls deserve to be dismissed as an also ran. What's the rush to kick them in the nuts?
Rosenbloom's basically a sports nihilist. I can't recall him ever giving a local team a positive review. During the Bulls' dynasty, he avoided writing/talking the Bulls. He's not really about truth or falsehood. He has a schtick. Some like it. Some don't.
He wrote the truth in this article. JC Johnson's recent articles are press releases for management. Setting us up for Pan B, but we really tried!
He wrote that the Bulls might as well chuck the whole thing if they can't get Lebron James. Is that the truth?
He wrote that Melo and Love don't guarantee victory. He's right. He wrote LeBron does. He's right. That said, if no LeBron, you have to try anyway. He got it right about grit not being the formula. See ya Kirk!
Save your farewells for Hinrich. I think he'll be back. Content-wise, this is important for this board (you make 30% fewer game thread posts when Hinrich is not on the team).
Be a good player. That ship has sailed. All he has left is tackling the best in the game. The contrast between the two players is as stark as can be.
Yeah OK, we've played this out (as usual). As much as it's always nice to converse with you, Denny, it'd be great if some of the lurkers would chime in.
He got $4M of your precious money, times two seasons. We had players who were much better who we had to let walk for lack of cap space. And we signed a guy who's better (Dunleavy) for less. Milwaukee wanted him, so we _had_ to outbid them?
One last point. Since we're going to lose (29 out of 30 do, and we don't really really really go all out to win), I'd rather watch Pistol Pete play no defense and score 40 points than watch Kirk Hinrich dribble and play at defense.
Obviously, that'd be great if you actually knew you were going to fall short of the championship. You may believe that the Bulls won't win the 2014-15 championship, but you don't know it. Result: Sorry, no Pistol Pete for you.
